Ruth Harper Acton

Ruth Harper Acton, age 85, formerly of Montevallo, AL died on Sunday, September 17, 2006 at Summerford Nursing Home in Falkville, AL.

She was member of the Bible Baptist Church in Wilton, AL.

Mrs. Acton was a Shelby County, AL native.

She taught school at Chelsea Elementary School until retirement.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 23, 2006 at 9:30 am until service time. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2006 at 11:00 am at Rockco Funeral Home Chapel in Montevallo, AL with Rev. Tom Hammett officiating.

Burial will follow in Elliottsville Cemetery in Alabaster, AL with Rockco Funeral Home of Montevallo, AL directing.

Survivors include: her children, Ellen Ruth Smith (Bobby), Roddy Cahoon (Frankie), Ken Acton (Janiece), Beth Acton, Gene Acton (Lil), Ty Acton (Martha), Wade Acton (Jennie), Dan Acton (Mary), and Larry Acton (Rose); sister, Ruby Nell Kendrick of Hoover, AL; brother, Tom Harper of Birmingham, AL; 24 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
