It looks Central Christian is rolling right now.
Two wins, including an embarrassment of Warrior Academy last Thursday, have the team sitting with a 1-0 record in region play.
But the train could hit some rough tracks this Friday.
Cornerstone’s 26-7 loss last week isn’t fooling the Warriors.
“They’re so well coached, and they’re so well disciplined and there’s lots of togetherness,” said CCA coach Lee Holladay. “They’ve got a great fullback who’s about 6-foot, 210 pounds. On the other hand, we do have one thing – we have athletes. We’re very, very athletic.
“So far, we’ve done everything we had to do to win.”
But all the things the Chargers do well, the Warriors have yet to master.
Holladay said his team is at times undisciplined, something that shows in their inconsistency in practice.
So far, CCA’s speed has covered a multitude of sins. But three wins away from the playoffs, the Warriors have to settle down for the stretch.
“We’re still searching for that togetherness, but we’re getting there,” Holladay said. “We’ll just see. If we beat these guys, we’re on a roll.”
