Tom Carson, Jr.

Tom Carson, Jr., age 57, formerly of Selma, passed away on August 31, 2006 in New Bern, North Carolina.

Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, September 7, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Selma Avenue Church of Christ with Bro. Joseph Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with J.H. Williams & Sons Funeral Home directing.

He was a former member of the Selma Avenue Church of Christ and a graduate of R.B. Hudson High School. After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force, Tom worked as a military aircraft mechanic at Craig AFB then at Cherry Point Marine Corps Air Station in North Carolina.

Survivors include: a devoted wife, Margaret Raynor Carson, New Bern, NC; one stepson, Chavis Raynor (Tammi), Tallahassee, FL; a loving mother, Ellen Carson, Selma, AL; and two sisters, Eula Rodgers and Dorothy J. Vann, Selma, AL.

He was preceded in death by his father, Tom Carson, Sr. and two brothers, Alphonso Thomas and Frank Thomas.

The body will lie in state at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral services.

Betty Moore Fuller

Betty Moore Fuller, age 73, a resident of Camden died on Monday, September 4, 2006.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Camden Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Cole officiating. Burial will be in Camden City Cemetery, Camden, AL.

The family will receive friends at Camden Baptist Church in the morning from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.

Mrs. Fuller was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Edwin Fuller and her brother, Joseph Lee (Skeeter) Dunn, III. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Dunn (Harold) Dailey of Camden, AL; grandchildren, Leslie Dailey Harvell and Adam Lee Dailey; great grandchildren, Skylar, Lee and Gage; sisters, Evelyn Moore (Bob) Lambert of Athens, TN, Ann Moore (Richard) Capell of Frisco City, AL, Sue Moore (Jimmy) Travis of Camden, AL, and Faye Moore Capps of Camden, AL.

Ms. Maggie Mae Hopkins, age 80, of Marion, Alabama died on September 4, 2006 at her home.

Ms. Lula D. Smith, age 94, of Jones, Alabama died on September 3, 2006 at her home.

Infant La’Kenya Areaunna Glenn

Infant La’Kenya Areaunna Glenn died on September 1, 2006 in Selma Hospital.

She leaves to cherish her memories her mother and father, Elizabeth Simpson and Kenneth Glenn of Selma; grandparents, Ola Simpson and Anna Glenn; great grandmother, Annie Crum; aunts, Shareta Glenn, Brenda Cleveland, and Erika Glenn; cousins, Anthony Simpson and Deriaun Glenn; and a host of other relatives.

A graveside service was held on September 5, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery.

Ms. Irene Reuben, age 48, of Selma, Alabama died on September 4, 2006 at Baptist Medical Center South.

Mr. Lee Williams, age 78, of Selma, Alabama died on August 31, 2006 at Vaughan Regional Medical Center.
