To the Editor:

This letter is in response to the letter written on Wednesday, Aug. 23, regarding the police officers in Selma.

I highly disagree with you.

I work in a public place and police officers are in and out all day long.

They speak and smile and

are always polite.

As far as not knowing their names, they always have their names on their uniforms.

People want Selma to be a better place, but how can it be a better place when we are putting down the men and women that put their lives on the line for us everyday.

I think we need to give the Selma Police Department the respect they deserve.
