The Red Devils led 21-6 at the half, but the Blue Devils scored to open the third quarter to cut the lead to 21-12.

From there, it was all Maplesville.

“Our defense bailed us out in the first half after we couldn’t score three times inside the 10-yard line,” said MHS coach Brent Hubbert. “Then we got things going on offense in the second half.”

Hubbert said Rod Nix had a great game on offense. On defense, Regis Laister, Brad Pike, Jacob Little and Vic Walls played well.

Nick Andrews and Little both had interceptions.

“It’s good when you have 37 players who dress out for a game and all of them get to play,” Hubbert added.
