Ruth Lowery Plummer, 93, of Selma died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2006, at her home

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2006, at New Live Oak Cemetery with the Rev. Ed Byrum officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include a son, James Floyd (Kaye) Plummer; daughter, Janice P. (John) Schmitt; grandchildren, John (Teja) Schmitt III, James (Ellen) Schmitt, Janice (John) Phillips, Joseph Schmitt, Karim Plummer (Matt) Oaks, James Floyd (Tracy) Plummer Jr.; seven great grandchildren; sister, Sally Whetstone; and sister-in-law, Nancy Washburn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Plummer, parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Lowery, sister, Lorraine Lowery Johnson, and brother, James “Pete” Lowery.

She was a member of Marion Junction Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for over 30 years.
