Leonard Reed Turner

Leonard Reed Turner, age 83, of Selma, AL, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2006 in a Tuscaloosa hospital.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. in Pineview Memory Gardens with Rev. George K. Jones, Sr. officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing.

He is survived by his three sons, Richard H. (Burnice) Turner, Ron (Beverly) Turner and Harold (Cammie) Turner; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Mr. Turner was preceded in death by his wife Mary Turner and a brother, Andrew Lee Turner.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p. m. Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at Selma Funeral Home.

Madeliene Porter Barlow, age 57, a resident of McKenzie, died on Sunday, July 30, 2006 in a Panama City, FL hospital.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 2, 2006 from Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Robert Watford and Dr. Cecil Williamson officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in McKenzie with Johnson Funeral Home of Georgiana directing.

Survivors include: Husband, Jimmy Barlow, McKenzie; Daughters, Catherine Jamisha, Grove Hill, Ashley Earnest Brock, Evergreen; Son, Brian Earnest, Andalusia; Brothers, Bill Porter, Selma, Cleve Porter, Knoxville, TN; Sister, Judi Porter, Selma; 5 Grandchildren.

Algene King Roscoe

Algene King Roscoe, age 94, of Selma, Alabama died on July 28, 2006 at home.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow in Lincoln Cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.

Viewing will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

Survivors include: two sisters, Oceola K. Milhouse of Washington, DC and Lillian K. Taylor of Selma, AL; niece, Rosa L. Taylor of Washington, DC; grandniece, Lillian J. Taylor of Huntsville, AL; a devoted and loving caregiver, Estella Tarver; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Amanda Walton Ellis

Amanda Walton Ellis, age 92, of Selma, passed July 30, 2006 at a local hospital.

Final arrangements will by announced later by J.H. Williams & Sons Funeral Home.
