Luther Lamont ‘Bo’ Bolding

After a lengthy illness, Luther Lamont “Bo” Bolding died at his residence in Plantersville, Alabama on July 21, 2006.

He was a native of Albertville, Alabama and was preceded in death by his father and mother, John Luther and Ruby Smith Bolding, a brother Therman Dono Bolding, and a sister, Shirley Kate Jolley.

Bo is survived by a brother, J.W. Bolding and sisters, Jeanette Latham and Rosana Wilkerson, plus numerous nieces and nephews.

Also he is survived by his extended families, W.O., Bobby and Allen Bearden, Jim and Sue Draime and Carey (Tiger) and Susan Jones.

“Bo” was an outstanding athlete in school, which led to a college scholarship to play baseball. “Bo” was a loyal fan to the University of Alabama football team, He was an outdoorsman, and especially enjoyed bow hunting and fishing.

“Bo” served his country as an Air Force mechanic in Germany for 6 years. This experience furthered his gifted mechanical skills enabling him to become associated with several of the large farming operations in the Dallas County area. His mechanical skills led him to becoming a key employee of the Napa Corporation for many years.

Special thanks are extended to the doctors, nurses and assistants at the Montgomery cancer center in Selma, Alabama.

Funeral services will be held at Lawrence Brown Funeral chapel Monday, July 24, 2006 at 10:00 A.M., With Rev. Terry Beard and Rev. Donald Harris officiating. Interment will follow at the Christian Cemetery, Plantersville, Alabama. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Pallbearers are Jeff Billingsley, Lee Grindle, Dennis Verhoff, Jim Draime, Carey Jones, and Steve Moore.

“Bo” lent a helping hand to everyone. He will be missed by many.

Helen Smith Akers

Helen Smith Akers, age 80, died Saturday July 22, 2006 at Vaughan Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday July 25, 2006 in the chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Sullivan officiating.

Survivors include her children, Jimmy W. (Jeanette) Akers, Sherry Akers, and Sue (Porter) Belcher, grandchildren, Wade Akers, LaJuana Roberts, David Belcher, Shane Bohannon, Mandy Holbrook, and P.C. Belcher, great grandchildren, Chasi Roberts, Clint Roberts, Marissa Akers, Chris Bohannon, Cody Bohannon, and Lakelyn Akers.

She is also survived by her two sisters, Somona (Frank) Schiller and Joyce Shultz.

Mrs. Akers was preceded in death by her Father Dewitt Smith and her mother Amanda Langston and her husband James W. Akers.

Pallbearers will be Wade Akers, David Belcher, P.C. Belcher, Sam Roberts, James Golden and Chad Holbrook.

Family will receive friends, Monday July 24, 2006 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army.
