Brenda Joyce Rutledge-Stitten

Brenda Joyce Rutledge-Stitten, age 49, resident of Perry County passed away, peacefully, in her sleep on July 9, 2006 at her home.

Family hour will be held at Lewis Brothers Funeral Home on Friday, July 14, 2006 from 6:00 pm-8:00pm.

Services are scheduled for July 15, 2006, 1:00 pm at the Oak Grove Augustine Baptist Church, officiated by Reverend Melvin Parker. The body will lie in state from 11:30a.m.-1:00pm. Burial will follow at Marietta AME Zion Church, directed by Lewis Brothers Funeral Home.

Brenda was the daughter of the Late Woodrow and Annie Rutledge. Survivors include: one son, Shaun Tavares Stitten; one daughter, Sheneka LaToya Stitten; Four grandchildren, three brothers, Franklin Rutledge, Leon Rutledge and Woodrow Rutledge, Jr.; eight sisters, Geraldine Grayson, Annie P. Harris, Sarah D. Cleveland, Theolia Valentine, Cliffidean Fuqua, Linda J. Walton, Barbara F. Cupstid and Jacqueline E. McKinney; four brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law. Thirteen nephews, nine nieces, two uncles, three aunts, and numerous cousins and friends. Pallbearers will be nephews and friends.

Minnie L. Prescott Neese

Minnie L. Prescott Neese, age 87, died Thursday July 13, 2006 in Mobile. Funeral Services will be announced later by Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home. Mrs. Neese is survived by her daughters, Barbara (Charles) Alford of Montgomery and Betty (Wayne) Hand of Mobile, son, John (Betty) Neese of Pensacola, FL, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, brother, Henri (Mildred) Prescott of Selma, Clifford (Matt) Prescott of Memphis, TN, sister, Naomi Brown of Dadeville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Trammell Neese, and parents, John Wesley

Prescott and Sarah Allie Jackson.

Chappelle

Lewis Admiral Chappelle, age 63, passed away Thursday July 13, 2006. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 15, 2006 at Pineview Memory Gardens with Dr. Chester Jernigan officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Chappelle is survived by his, wife Brenda Moore Chappelle, son, Lewis A. Chappelle Jr. (Racquel) of Montgomery, step-children, Michael (Sona) Blue of Arab, and Tammy (Danny) Terrell of Plantersville, grandchildren, Jarred and Eli Chappelle, Johnny, Tony, and Dannon Terrell, Bryant, Clint, Matthew, and Jacob Blue, and Chris Moore, brother, Chester (Reesa) Chappelle, sister, Jennie (Larry) Sievers, and numerous nieces, nephews, and large loving extended family and friends.

Mr. Chappelle was preceded in death by his parents Clyde E. Chappelle and Dora Allen Chappelle Hunter, his daughter, Deloris Chappelle, and brother, Douglas Chappelle.

Pallbearers will be nephews, Larry Mott, Steve Mott, Doug Chappelle Jr., Chet Chappelle, Josh Chappelle, Park Chappelle, Derek Chappelle, and Kenny Hauptmann.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Southern Care Hospice or the Alzheimers Association.

Walter Lee Jackson

Walter Lee Jackson, age 43, of Marion, AL died on July 8, 2006 at Driutt City Hospital. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, July 15, 2006 at 1:00 pm at Hopewell Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery in Marion.

James Jones

James Jones, age 79, of Valley Grande, AL died on July 12, 2006 at Vaughan Regional Medical Center. Funeral services and survivors will be announced later by Miller Funeral Service.

Eddie Moore, Sr.

Eddie Moore, Sr., age 81, of Selma, AL died on July 10, 2006 at Lighthouse Nursing Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, July 15, 2006 at 11:30 am at St. Paul CME with Rev. Winston Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Good Hope Cemetery, Pleasant Hill, with Miller Funeral Service directing.

Survivors include: his wife, Bernice H. Moore; one son, Eddie Moore, Jr.; one daughter, Beatrice L. Moore; four brothers-in-laws, James, Robert and Wilson Hale and Eddie Craig; two sisters-in-laws, Hattie Beasley and Juanita Hale; four grandchildren, Marketa Shondale Coleman, Titus D. Moore, Anthony James, and Walter Sivan III; one great grandchild.

Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his parents, Ellie and Tealler Moore and two grandchildren, (twins) Elbony and Natasha L. Moore.

Pallbearers will be James Hale, Wilson Hale, Eddie Craig, Preston Hornbucker, John E. Johnson, Dan Hollis, Michael Williams and James Martin.

Kenneth Allen Benton

Kenneth Allen Benton, age 40, died Thursday, July 13, 2006 in Atlanta, GA. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 14, 2006 at New Live Oak Cemetery directed by Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home with Rev. Calvin Strickland officiating.

Mr. Benton is survived by his wife, Allison Benton; sons, Zach and Bobby Benton; brother, Randy (Joanne) Benton and Mike (Aurelia) Benton and also numerous nieces and nephews.

Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include: companion, Charles Gorden; one son, Cyrus Zeigler of Minneapolis; one daughter, Sherry Zeigler of Minneapolis; two brothers, Willie Weaver of New York and Charles Weaver of Minneapolis; three sisters, Elizabeth Stevens, Mildred Freeman, and Gloria Weaver of Minneapolis and five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
