Ann Howard

Ann Howard, age 84, of Jones, Alabama died on July 3, 2006 at Vaughan Regional Medical Center. Funeral will be Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at 12:00 noon at Figtree Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Figtree Cemetery with Walker Mortuary directing.

Mrs. Mary E. Johnson, age 81, of Demopolis, Alabama passed away on July 5, 2006 at Bryan Whitfield Hospital in Demopolis, Alabama. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at the New Hope #1 Baptist Church on Highway 57 in Jefferson, Alabama. Rev. Joseph Waller will officiate. Interment will follow in Scott Memorial Cemetery in Jefferson, Alabama. Larkin & Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis, Alabama entrusted with arrangements.

Emma Calhoun

Emma Calhoun, age 78, of Selma, AL died on July 9, 2006 at Vaughan Regional Medical Center. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at New Liberty Baptist with Elder James Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Pineview Cemetery with Miller Funeral Service directing.

Survivors include: one Godson, Jerry (Christine) Brown of Selma, AL.; three very special grandchildren, Courtney Coleman, Clarence Coleman, and “Twiggy” Grayson; three daughters, Carolyn (Clarence) Coleman and Denise Grayson of Selma, AL. and Erma (Lonnie) Savage of Mableton, GA.; one Goddaughter, Caroline (Percy, Jr.) Towns of Selma, AL. Also surviving is one brother, Willie Clay of Birmingham, AL.; two sisters, Thelma Blunt and Lucille Hardy of Selma, AL.; sixteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and many other relative and friends.

Pallbearers will be nephews and grandsons.

John Wayne Campbell

John Wayne Campbell, age 9, of Selma, passed away July 9, 2006.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 12, 2006, 11:00 a.m. at Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George K. Jones, Sr and Rev. Chester Jernigan officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 11, 2006, 6-8:00 p.m.at Selma Funeral Home.

Interment will be in New Live Oak Cemetery.

He is survived by his parents, William (Bill) and Rae Campbell; one brother, Hayden Burling; two sisters, Summer and Katie Burling; grandfather, Frank Daniels; great grandfather, Leo Tennimon and great step-grandmother, Imogene Campbell; his birth mother, Sherry L. Burling and his birth father, Joseph W. Howell.

Wayne had completed the second grade and was so excited to receive his membership at the YMCA.

He was a member at Shady Grove Baptist Church.

Charles Raymond Schoulin, Sr.

Charles Raymond Schoulin, Sr. (Charlie Brown), age 65, of Selma passed away Sunday, July 9, 2006 in a local hospital.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; one son, Charles R. Schoulin., Jr.;

two daughters, Talissa S. (Keith) Thornton and Jacqueline L. Schoulin (Shawn Flynn); one brother, A. L. Allen; two sisters, Paula Rueben and Waldeline Harris; grandchildren, Chad Knight, Brett Knight, Bodie Schoulin, John Ryan Sokes, Landon D. Flynn, Cody A. Thornton, Kaitlyn Thornton and Brandon Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and LaRuth Schoulin and a sister, Laberta Wilder.

Charles was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

He was a race fan and an avid golfer and was a past Sr. Masters Golf Champion for Alabama.

He will be remembered most for his love of golf, his family and his awesome way to make anyone laugh with his joking nature.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 11, 2006, 1:00 p.m. at Crosspoint Christian Church with Rev. Ron Gordon and Rev. Alan Yarborough officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing.

Interment will be in Pineview Memory Garden.

Visitation was held Monday, July 10, 2006, 6-8:00 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons and son-in-laws, Keith Thornton, Shawn Flynn, Chad Knight, Brett Knight, Bodie Schoulin and Brandon Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Lander, Gordon “Yank” Cargill and his co-workers at International Paper Company.
