UTU 1053 day late and ‘Dollar’ short in loss Tuesday

Dollar Saver team stays unblemished

It was an exciting game between the undefeated Dollar Saver team and the UTU 1053 team in 9-11 girls fast-pitch softball on June 6 at the Dallas County Sportsplex. Dollar Saver ended up taking home the 19-4 victory over UTU 1053.

The Dollar Saver team started things off with a 4-0 lead in the first inning of the game. They held the UTU 1053 team scoreless throughout the first two innings.

Gabryelle Dunning, Rebecca Hastings and Heather Bright put three runs on the scoreboard to help their team out. The Dollar Saver team continued their lead into the third inning by adding seven more runs to the team’s score.

The UTU 1053 team also added some runs to their score during the third inning of the game. Heather Day, Laigan Godwin, Ceileigh Denny and Shay Ramsey contributed four runs to the team’s score.

Karlynn Savage and Margaret Mims scored one run each in the fourth. These two runs sealed the 19-4 win for the Dollar Saver squad. Also adding runs to the Dollar Saver team’s score were Allie Tepper, Whitney Denson and Amy Persinger with two runs each. Tiffany Kaldor also helped out the team by scoring one run.

The UTU 1053 team was unable to score any runs by the end of the fourth inning, which ended the game.

The Dollar Saver team remains undefeated in the 9-11 girls fast-pitch softball age group.
