Mr. Hamp Rucker Jr.

Mr. Hamp Rucker Jr., age 50, of Atlanta, GA, formerly of Orrville, AL, died on May 14, 2006 in Georgia.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 20, 2006 at 1:00 PM at Mount Calvary Baptist Church, Rev. Robert Crummie officiated and Guss Thornhills Funeral Home of Atlanta, GA directed.

Survivors include: one daughter, Tamera Rucker; grandson, Al’Taviion Rucker; granddaughter, Eriyelle Marshall; five sisters, Nettie Thrash, Annette Speight, Shelia (Anthony) Lyons, Mary (Alvin) Wedgeworth, Eloise (Donald) Mann; two brothers, Raymond Rucker, John (Ammie) Rucker; a loving aunt, Callie Sanders; one uncle, Edward Thurman and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hamp and Annie Thurman Rucker and two brothers, James and Anthony Rucker.

Briggs Jr.

John Edward Briggs Jr., age 84, died Tuesday, May 23, 2006 in Millbrook.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday May 24, 2006 at New Live Oak Cemetery with Dr. Cecil Williamson officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Briggs is survived by his son, John Edward Briggs III, daughter, Mary Ella Briggs, grandchildren, Brian Anthony Briggs and Zachary Aaron Briggs, daughter-in-law, Rose Marie Briggs, and a niece, Betty Bentley.

The family wishes to express a special thanks to Wiregrass Hospice of Montgomery.

Mr. Briggs was preceded in death by his wife, Celeste Garris Briggs.

Honorary Pallbearers are Elders and Deacons of Crescent Hill Presbyterian Church and retired employees of Alabama Gas Co.

Family will receive friends Wednesday May 24, 2006 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
