Mona Lou Holliman

Mona Lou Holliman, age 88, of Summerfield, AL passed away May 22, 2006.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 24, 2006, 2:00 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Fancher officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing.

Interment will be in Pineview Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 23, 2006, 6-8:00 p.m.

She is survived by two daughters, Sandra A. Harrison of Valley Grande, AL and Cynthia M. Kane of Selma, AL; one brother, Dale Craig, Cochran, GA; two sisters, Nita Veazey of Maplesville, AL and Helen Parrone of Niagra Falls, NY; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Clarence Westbrook and Major Thomas Holliman and one daughter, Sylvia E. McLaughlin.

Pallbearers will be Brad McLaughlin, J. Carlton Sapp, James Harrison, Milton Harrison, Harold Harrison and Larry Veazey.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Vance Kane and Thad Bruner.

Dorothy Eloise

Smitherman

Dorothy Eloise Smitherman, age 79, of Valley Grande, AL passed away May 21, 2006.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 24, 2006, 10:30 a.m. at Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Wyatt officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing.

Interment will be in Pineview Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

She is survived by three brothers, Vernon A. (Mary) Moore, Gordon H. (Mary) Moore and Hawkins (Patsy) Moore all of Demopolis, AL; one sister, Frances (Paul) Rowe of Falkville, AL and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Leon H. Smitherman.

Pallbearers will be Charlie Gover, Larry Patrick, Pick Rowe, Paul Rowe III, Tony Patrick and Vernon Moore, Jr.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to a favorite charity.

David L. Gray

David L. Gray, 75, an Air Force major general, who retired in 1982 as the Commandant of the Air War College and Vice Commander of Air University, Maxwell AFB, Montgomery Ala., died of cancer May 12 in Melbourne Fla.

Dave mourned the loss of his first wife and mother of their three children, Nelda Ryan of Selma, Ala., who passed away in 1987. They were married for 32 years.

He is survived by his wife Pat; his son, Major General Scott and Jackie Gray and their son Ryan; his daughter, Vicki Lynn Gray; and another son, Dr. Mark Gray and his wife Dana.

A memorial service will be held May 25 at 10 a.m. at Chapel 2 on Maxwell AFB, Ala. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Air Force Aid Society, 214th 18th Street-STE 202, Arlington, VA 22202 marked for the Maj Gen David L. Gray Memorial Fund.

Tyler Butler

Tyler Butler, age 53, a resident of Farmington, MN passed away on May 19, 2006 in Stillwater, MN.

Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date by J.H. Williams & Sons Funeral Home.
