Who can bring money to Dallas County?

To the Editor:
As stated before “Running for Probate Judge in Dallas County is a real Hoot,” it’s amusing to watch how each candidate swings his “bat.”
After listening to the two most popular talk shows, the listeners’ opinions are, there is no depth, detail or specifics in their campaign platforms, and I agree.
This morning on Randy Williams’ program “View Point,” one of the candidates for Probate Judge stated, “Tell the Colonel that he needs to get Republican dollars into Dallas County.”
I must agree with his comment.
Of the four candidates running, who has the best
chance of obtaining these funds for our county?
It’s apparent that he knows the answer and I do agree.
We need to look at the surrounding counties. Chilton and Autauga are growing, progressive and predominately Republican. On the other hand, take a look at Wilcox, Perry and Lowndes. Why are they absent of progress and growth? Landfills and prisons are not progress. Could it be the absence of Republican representation?
Again I must agree with the commissioner running for Probate Judge. If we are to obtain monies for our county, we must have Republican representation and leadership to open these doors.
I was once told by a Colonel, “Wells, you know how to hit the long ball, son, the long ball!”
The Colonel is now General Tommy Franks, USA Ret.
