Marvin Paul Keener

Marvin Paul Keener, age 88, of Selma, AL passed away May 16, 2006 in a Montgomery nursing home.

Funeral services will be Friday, May 19, 2006, 11:00 a.m. at Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George K. Jones, Sr. officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing.

Interment will be in New Live Oak Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour before the service.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Faye C. Keener; one daughter, Cindy (Keith) Pickle of Lyons, GA; one granddaughter, April Hopkins of Lyons, GA; one sister, Ida Bell Franklin of Tyler, TX and four nieces, Vickie (Steve) Leanard of Tyler, TX, Katie (Bob) Montgomery of Ocala, FL, Patsy (Bill) Sherrer of Ashford, AL and Jeannine Keener of Montgomery, AL.

Pallbearers will be James Bearden’s Sunday School Class at Valley Grande Baptist Church.

Mr. Keener was an active deacon of Central Baptist Church, (now Valley Grande Baptist) for 56 years.

He also served as an usher, on the Homebound Committee and Baptismal Committee.

Myra Ellen Norris

Myra Ellen Chambliss Norris, age 84, died Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at L.V. Stabler Hospital in Greenville. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday May 19, 2006 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. David Thomas officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Norris is survived by her husband, Tommy Norris, sons, Butch Norris and Mike (Jackie) Norris, grandchildren, Rachael (Jeff) Norris Holsworth, Reagan Norris (Gary) Kolb, Thomas Norris III, Tony (Denise) Norris, Chad (Amy) Norris, and Misty Norris (Dan) Mellett, and great-grandchildren, Tyler Holsworth, Chad Norris Jr., Sarah Clay Norris, Lauren Norris, and Ariel Wilson.

Pallbearers are grandsons and grandson-in-laws, Tony Norris, Chad Norris, Thomas Norris, Dan Mellett, Gary Kolb, Jeff Holsworth, and dear friend Johnny Stringer.

Family will receive friends Thursday May 18, 2006 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
