Mr. Charles Harris
Bagley Jr.
Mr. Charles Harris Bagley, Jr. was born September 19, 1945 in Selma, Alabama to the late Mr. Charles H. Bagley, Sr. and Mrs. Dorothy Bagley-Harvin.
He passed from labor to his
reward on Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma, Alabama. Charles attended school in the Selma City School System graduating from R.B. Hudson High School in 1963.
He was a Veteran and served two terms in the Vietnam War. A member of the 101 Air Borne Battalion. Charles later returned back to Selma, AL in 1986 and was employed by Central Alabama Youth Services and the Alabama Department of youth Services.
He touched the lives of many youth and young children. He is known to many youth as Sergeant Bagley. While growing up in Selma as a child he was a member of the Historic Brown Chapel A.M.E. Church. When he returned back to Selma he became a member of Grace Fellowship Church under the leadership of Pastor Sam and Doris Moultrie.
Family members and friends who remain to cherish his memories: A wife, Yi Kang Nam Bagley; one son, Charles Harris Bagley, III; four daughters, Shaisse Bagley and Nichelle Bagley-Green, of Roselle, NJ, Lisa Dorothy Bagley of Texas and Jeannie Lynn Bagley of Selma, AL; two grandchildren, De’Monte D. O’Bryant and Jaden Bagley; two sisters, Gloria B. Lane of Burlington, Kansas and Rosilynd Bagley Dembo of Selma, AL; one brother, Joseph Edwin Bagley of Selma, AL; two nephews, Patrick Dembo and Justin M. Bagley; two great-nephews, Malik and Daunt’e and a host of other relatives and friends. Devoted long time friend and conformant Lulu.
Cremation arrangements by Miller’s Funeral Home was done on Friday, May 12, 2006 at 1:00pm.
Leola Donaldson Paige
Leola Donaldson Paige, age 71, of Selma, AL died on April 7, 2006 in Atlanta, GA.
She donated her body to Emory University School of Medicine.
Surviving are: one daughter, Susan Michelle Paige Coker and her husband Danny; her twin sister, Flora Donaldson Adams of Atlanta, GA; sister, Louise Donaldson Lanphier and her husband Ralph of Nebraska; brother, Charles T. Donaldson and his wife Cecilia of Texas.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
Charlie King
Charlie King, age 81, a resident of Selma, passed away on May 13, 2006 at a local nursing facility. Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date by J.H. Williams & Sons Funeral Home.
Jack Wayne Weeden
Jack Wayne Weeden, age 65, of Greensboro, AL died on Saturday, May 13, 2006 at UAB Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at 1:00pm at Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Kirk Funeral Homes Greensboro Chapel directing. Rev. Arthur Thomas and Rev. Tom Terry will officiate. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 16, 2006 from 6:00 – 8:00pm at Kirk Funeral Home Greensboro Chapel.
Survivors include: wife, Joyce Wilkerson Weeden of Greensboro; two sons, Warren Bert Weeden of Greensboro and Jack Russell (Tammy) Weeden of Greensboro; one sister, Doris Weeden Jackson of Greensboro; two brothers, David A. (Johnnie Lou) Weeden of Selma and Robert Otis Weeden if Greensboro; grandchildren, Craig (Kelly) Miller of Tuscaloosa and Cara Miller of Greensboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ren Kynard, Allen Weedon, Cliff Weedon, Wayne Weedon, Lee Jackson, Robin Weeden and Craig Miller Mark Lehigh.
Preceded in death by one daughter, Cynthia Shalene Weeden; parents, Walter and Leola Edwards Weeden; and one brother, Walter Weeden, Jr.
