Following a lengthy search, the Selma City School Board chose offensive coordinator Brian Montgomery to fill the head coaching vacancy created after the resignation of Woodrow Lowe Jr., to join the Ottawa Renegades franchise of the Canadian Football League.

Montgomery will also take over the responsibilities of the Athletic Director.

Montgomery spent last season as the offensive coordinator of the Saints in their run to the playoffs. In 2004, he coached the offensive line.

During the last two years, Montgomery has taught science at CHAT Academy.

While he may be new to heading a team in the state of Alabama, he is no stranger to being the man in charge.

A graduate of Texas Southern, Montgomery stalked the sidelines in Texas as a head coach for five years. Three of those were spent as AD.

Before settling into the coaching role, Montgomery played for the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League.

Montgomery, who is an Atlanta native, currently resides in Selma with his wife and two children.
