Rebecca (Essie) Whitt

Rebecca (Essie) Whitt, age 72, of St. Louis, MO. formerly of Selma, AL died at home on March 22, 2006.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2006 at the New Morning Star Baptist Church Marion Jct., with Rev. R.L. Tolbert officiating.

Burial will follow in the Whitt Cemetery directed by Lewis Brothers Funeral Home.

Survivors include her children, Mattie (Leon) Brown, Mary Ruth Sherrod, Gloria (Chris) Powell and Barbara Smith all of St. Louis; Darlene Mitchell and David (Nita) Whitt Sr. of Selma.

One brother Robert Whitt and one sister-in-law Catherine Whitt of Selma.

18 grandchildren, 20 greatgrands and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Milton and Lula Whitt, six

brothers: Milton Jr., Tommy, Henry, Sammy, Dennis, Willie, and Joseph Whitt and two sisters: Lula Bell Harrell and Queen Esther Whitt.

Active pallbearers are friends and family.

Mrs. Vestra Jackson-King

Mrs. Vestra Jackson-King, age 73, of Queens, New York passes away on March 23, 2006 in New York.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2006 at 1:00 pm at Larkin & Scott Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Fred Moore will officiate. Interment will follow in Scott Memorial Cemetery, Jefferson, Alabama.

Serous Lee Coleman

Serous Lee Coleman, of Maryland, died on March 22, 2006 in Maryland.

Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, March 30, 2006 at 1:00 pm at Greater St. Paul with Rev. Summers officiating. Burial will follow in Dr. Henry Cemetery directed by Miller Funeral Service.

Mr. Samuel Lee Brown

Mr. Samuel Lee Brown, age 82, of Demopolis, Alabama passed away on March 25, 2006 at Bryan Whitfield Hospital in Demopolis, Alabama.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 31, 2006 at 1:00 pm at the Larkin & Scott Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jessie Bell officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion No. 1 Cemetery in Demopolis, Alabama.
