Clarence Williams, Jr., age 71, of Selma, AL died on March 11, 2006 at Vaughan Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2006 at 12:00 noon at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. C. A. Heard officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery directed by Miller Funeral Service.

Survivors include eleven sons, Clarence Williams, Greg Williams, Dale Williams, Reginald Williams, Trent Williams, Cleophus Williams, Donald Williams, Eric Williams, Bernard Williams, Anthony Daniels and Jeremy Williams; six daughters, Belinda Williams, Patricia Savage, Veronica Hooks, Frances Hardy, Vanessa Anderson and Vickie Watts; one brother, Clark (Geraldine) Williams; one sister, Mary Dudley. Thirty grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, four sons-in-laws, two daughters-in-laws, one sister-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Katie Murphy, age 84, of Alberta, AL died on March 10, 2006 at her home.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2006 at 11:00 am at Christian Light Safford, Safford, AL with Rev. C. Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in Sidney Chapel Churchyard Cemetery, Consul, AL with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include her husband, Herod Murphy; three sons, Herod (Mary) Murphy, Jr. of Catherine, AL, Roster (Jennetta) Murphy of Alberta, AL, Robert (Bernice) Murphy of Alberta, AL; six daughters, Noami Smith of Alberta, AL, Alice F. (Ronnie) Adams of Rockaway, NY, Dinah (David) Lewis of Selma, AL, Ella (Clarance) Gamble of Atlanta, GA, Linda (Samuel) McCampbell of Montgomery, AL, Elizabeth (Freddie) McCampbell of Selma, AL; thirty grandchildren; thirty-six great grandchildren; six sons-in-laws; three daughters-in-laws; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

Pallbearers will be Robert Murphy, Roster Murphy, Samuel McCampbell, Tyrone Gamble, Fredrick Murphy and Sedrick Howard.

Corbin Williams

Corbin Williams, 88, of Selma died on March 13, 2006 at Shelby County Hospital.

Funeral services will held on Saturday, March 18, 2006 at 11:00 am at Lewis Brothers Chapel with Rev. F. D. Reese officiating.

Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.

Lillie B. Davis

Lillie B. Davis, 95, a resident of Selma, passed away on March 11, 2006 at a local nursing facility.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, March 17, 2006 at 12:00 noon from Shiloh Baptist Church on Selma Avenue with Pastor Joshua Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with J. H. Williams & Sons Funeral Home directing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Davis, Jr.; her parents, George and Clara Housman Richardson; and a son, Mark Hunter, Sr.

Survivors include a daughter, Kittie Davis (Edward) Thurman; a son, George W. (Amanda) Colson; a god child, Roy Morgan; sixteen grandchildren; a devoted granddaughter, Shirley A. (Jim) Hardy of Selma, Pam and Kimberly Davis and Rhonda Hill of Augusta, GA; Evonne Jordon and Mark Hunter of Detroit, MI, Earnest (Bonita) Davis of Selma, AL, Deborah (Raymond) Bishop, Carrie Sikes, Fannie Gregg, Carolyn (George, Jr.) Grundy, George (Leslie) Colston, Jr. of Flint, MI, Geraldine and Gladys Dudley of Grand Rapids, MI, Mark Thomas of Birmingham, AL, and Joygena (Devorick) Johnson of Oak Grove, KY; thirty-five great grandchildren; sixteen plus great great grandchildren; sister, Chattie and brother Calvin Brower of Fayetteville, IL; a niece Martha Spellman and a host of other relatives and friends.

Elder Isaac Rhodes

Elder Isaac Rhodes, age 90, of Selma, AL died on March 11, 2006.

Funeral services are scheduled for March 18, 2006 at 2:00 pm at Reformed Presbyterian Church in Selma, AL with Pastor Gary L. Crum officiating. Burial will follow in Pineview Memory Gardens with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include sons, retired Sgt. Isaac Carl Rhodes of Selma, Bernard A. Rhodes of Atlanta, GA; daughters, Alma Rhodes of Atlanta, GA, Angela Rhodes Keebler of Selma, Ernestine Rhodes- Nicholson, Christine Rhodes of Albany, NY; grandchildren, great grandchildren; and sister, Rosa Clay of Cleveland, OH and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his faithful wife, Mary C. Rhodes and one daughter, Rose Mary Rhodes.

Mrs. Abbie J. McClain

Mrs. Abbie J. McClain, age 94, of Demopolis, Alabama passed away on March 8, 2006 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2006 at 1:00 pm at the Christian Chapel Baptist Church, Demopolis, Alabama. Rev. Fred Moore, Pastor. Rev. Dr. Thomas Gilmore, officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion #1 Cemetery, Demopolis, Alabama.

Family hour will be held on Saturday from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm at the church.

Rosie L. McCord, age 91, of Lowndes County died on March 9, 2006 at Vaughan Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2006 at 11:00 am at Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Jones officiating.

Burial will follow in the churchyard with Miller Funeral Services directing.

Survivors include two sons, Sam McCord, Jr. and Robert McCord; three daughters, Katie L. Williams, Letha Mae McCord and Willie Nell Brown; five brothers, Sidney Underwood, Willie Underwood, James Underwood, Joe Underwood and Hugh Underwood; one sister, Jessie L. Underwood. Eight grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, two daughters-in-laws, one brother-in-law, one sister-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.

Burial will follow in Harris Cemetery with Miller Funeral Service directing.

Survivors include five sons, Rev. Melvin (Idell) Parker, B. H. (Eula) Parker, B. J. (Annie) Parker, Robert (Loretta) Parker and Willie (Margie) Parker; five daughters, Dora Sturdivant, Shirley Wyatt, Otha Sturdivant, Emma (Sammy) Mosley and Dorothy (Nathinal) Carter; one brother, Otis Hatcher; two sisters, Jossie Tripp and Katie Tripp; two brothers-in-laws; three sisters-in-laws and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Ronald Eugene Cross

Ronald Eugene Cross, age 75, of Selma, passed away March 15, 2006.

Graveside services will be Saturday, March 18, 2006, 11:00 a.m. at New Live Oak Cemetery with Dr. Kenny Hatcher officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be Friday, March 17, 2006, 6-8:00 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Bivins Cross, two sons, Ronald E. Cross, Jr and Michael Dean Cross; two daughters, Jocynthia Tay Cross and Kimberly Michel Cross; six brothers; six sisters; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Deacons of Northside Baptist Church.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Harmony Sunday School Class at Northside Baptist Church.

Ralph Kish

Ralph Kish, 65, of Safford Alabama passed away March 16 in Palmetto, Florida.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 19th at 2:00 PM at Orrville Methodist Church.

Surviving family includes; wife Virginia Kish of Safford , his 3 children;

Mark Kish of Palmetto, Fl., Richard Kish of Faunsdale and Mary Duncan of Orrville.

He has 7 grandchildren, his brother George of Orrville and 4 nieces and nephews.

Ralph was a volunteer fireman in Safford for several years.
