The Morgan Academy Senators claimed their second team victory of the season on Tuesday, knocking off the Springwood School Wildcats at Lagoon Park.
The Lady Senators, however, didn’t fare so well, coming out on the short end of the stick against the Springwood Lady Wildcats.
The Lady Senators took the courts first in neutral-site match-up. Amy McGuckin lost to Mary Martha Scott in three sets. Carrie Glover beat Bunny Jones in three sets. Rachael Sherrer dropped back-to-back sets to Rebecca Lue, 6-0 and 6-1.
Lauren Jones fell by the same tallies to Jessica Bolton.
Jamie Pilcher dropped two sets to Hannah Smith, 6-3, 6-3 and then Caitlin Henderson lost to Leigh Ann Parker 8-7.

The duo of Sherrer and Jones, however fell to Jones and Lue 8-2.
When the Senators took the court, it was a different story.
Drew Pomeroy kicked off the Morgan rally with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Davis Frasier.
Rhett Rhyne rallied to beat Jeff Davenport in straight sets, 6-0, 6-3.
Houston Searcy dropped Morgan’s first match, 6-4, 6-3. But, his opponent was Andrew Golden, the defending Class AAA state champion from a year ago.
Morgan suffered a second set-back when Cain Sommerville dropped a trio of sets to Will Hester.
Morgan, however, got back on track with a pair of victories by Kyle Brignac (beating Ansom Tompkins 6-1, 6-3) and Ellis Talton (beating Matt Reynolds 6-3, 7-5).
Reese Armstrong knocked off Josh Jones 8-3 and then unbeaten Luke Jones added another win to his record with a shutout of Patrick Bolton, 8-0.
In doubles’ action, the duo of Pomeroy/Searcy beat Davenport/Golden 10-3.
After that, the Senators added another victory when the team of Rhyne/Sommerville beat Hester/Tompkins by the same tally.
