To the Editor:

A breath of fresh air!

The Selma-Dallas County Library can breathe easier today thanks to the Selma City Council’s vote to fund the Library’s utility bills.

My hat goes off to Councilwoman Allen for showing us that it is possible to make an informed decision.

She took it upon herself to actually sit down with Library officials and review their financial status.

She used this review to not only cast her vote to help restore funding but to make the motion that was passed by the Council.

She accomplished this with grace and decorum.

The use of the word Decorum is used here to show the two faces of last night’s city council.

Definition of Decorum “appropriate behavior, good manners; Antonyms: bad behavior, band manners, impoliteness, rudeness.”

Thank you, Dr. Allen for being a voice of reason for the citizens of this great City.
