Terrence White was being held on multiple misdemeanor charges at the Dallas County Jail when he escaped Tuesday afternoon during an escorted dentist’s appointment.
Chief Deputy Randy Pugh of the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department said White, 23, ran out of the side door of the dentist’s office around 2 p.m., sporting a bright orange jail jumpsuit and handcuffs.
Dallas County and Selma law enforcement officials searched for several hours before Selma Police apprehended White around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at an unidentified residence – still wearing the bright orange jumpsuit, still in handcuffs.
“He was to be released in 14 days for misdemeanor charges,” Pugh said. “Now he has a felony escape.”
White is back at the Dallas County Jail and awaiting his court appearance for the escape charge.
