A suspect was arrested Sunday in Birmingham in connection with the robbery of the Plantersville Post Office Wednesday morning, officials said.
Officials expect to file charges against the suspect this morning in Mobile, said Mike Willis, postal inspector. They will be seeking a charge of post office robbery.
Willis said they received information regarding the whereabouts of the suspect Saturday evening.
“We worked all night on it,” he said Sunday afternoon.
The robbery occurred about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday when a white male, 55 to 60 years of age, entered the post office and said he had a gun, Willis said.
“He took cash and money orders,” Willis said.
The suspect left in a small or medium size gray vehicle with another person.
