Annie Bender Strickland, 100, a resident of Braggs, AL died on Tuesday, January 17, 2006.

Funeral services will be Thursday, January 19, 2006 at 11:00am from Braggs Christian Church, Braggs, AL with Reverend Randall Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in Braggs Cemetery with Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends on hour prior to service.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Mack Strickland; four daughters, Maxine Strickland, Jean Hughes, Ann Ward, Mary Jung and one son, Aubrey Strickland. She is survived by four sons, Mack Strickland, Fred (Betty) Strickland, Ralph Strickland, Ed (Gayla) Strickland; three daughters, Aubrey (Bill) Johnston, Gloria (Douglas) McLendon and Bet (Charlie) Coco; twenty-eight grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will include Mrs. Strickland’s grandsons.

Memorials may be given to Braggs Cemetery Fund, c/o Derril L. Strickland, 15293 State Hwy 21 S., Minter, AL 36761.

Elbert (Butch) Leslie, Jr., of Selma died Wednesday, January 11, 2006 at Mother Cabrini Hospital in Manhattan, NY.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 21, 2006 at Miller Funeral Home Chapel at 2:30pm.

Elbert Leslie, Sr. preceded him in death and he is survived by his mother and stepfather, Eunice and Roy Crum; four sisters, five uncles, twelve aunts, two nieces, two nephews, one great niece and one great nephew.
