William Monroe

Veach, Sr.

William Monroe Veach Sr., 75, of Selma died Friday, January 6, 2006 in a Montgomery hospital.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday January 10, 2006 at New Live Oak Cemetery with Rev. Lee Tate officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.

Family visitation will be 10:00 to 10:30 on Tuesday at Lawrence Funeral Home.

Survivors include wife, Doris McKinney Veach; son, William H. Veach, Jr. and his wife, Anna P.; daughter, Susan Veach Crane and her husband, Richard; three grandchildren, Katherine Jean Veach, Claire Calderwood Veach, and Kelsey Peyton Crane; two brothers, C. Morris Veach and Paul Veach; two sisters, Judy Saranthus and Doris Arrighi; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Veach was preceded in death by his parents, W. M. Veach and Pennie A, Veach; and one brother, Jack Veach.

Mr. Veach was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict.

Active Pallbearers will be Les Smith, Tommy Morris, Andy Rives, Scott Casey, Wayne Middlebrooks, and Barry Stephens.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Maverick Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.

Alvin Wayne Gaston

Mr. Alvin Wayne Gaston, 50, a native of Dallas County, AL and a resident of Mobile, AL passed on Friday, January 6, 2006 in a Mobile, AL hospital. Mr. Gaston was a member of Covenant Church of Mobile.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Bernice Padgett Gaston and one brother, Ronnie Gaston.

He is survived by one brother, Allen Gaston and one sister, Barbara (Tim) Young; both of Selma, AL; one niece, Betsy Young, of Selma, AL; two nephews, Davin Young, of Dover, DE and Tyler Gaston, of Trussville, AL; and other relatives.

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Covenant Church of Mobile, 7150 Hitt Road, Mobile, AL 36695.

Pallbearers will be David Ellison, Vernon Hale, Mike Chambliss, David Chambliss, Tracey King and Rick Spitzkoph.

Visitation will be Monday, January 10, 2006 at 1 p.m. at Covenant Church of Mobile. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Oliver Heath officiating and Radney Funeral Home of Mobile directing.
