Auburn Junior Davenport

Mr. Auburn Junior Davenport, 70 year old equipment operator of Plantersville, Al, died Monday, December 12, 2005 in Plantersville,

Alabama.

He was born Friday, March 1, 1935 in Chilton County, Alabama, son of the late John Davenport and the late Rosia Ray Davenport.

Surviving are his wife, Janice Davenport of Iron City, Alabama; 2 daughters, Mrs. Judy K. Baker of Plantersville, Alabama, Mrs. Tony Davenport of Iron City, Alabama; Son, Mr. Tommy Davenport of Iron City, Alabama; 2 grandsons, Eric Reed, Arkansas, Rodney Baker, Irag; three granddaughters, Natasha Reed, Arkansas, Tiffany Baker, Clanton, Jennifer Davenport, Munford; five great grandchildren; 4 brothers, Mr. Earl Davenport of Maplesville, Alabama, Mr. Danny Davenport of Plantersville, Wayne Davenport of Maplesville and Jimmy Davenport of Selma, Alabama; 4 sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Brewer of Nashville, Tennessee, Mrs. Martha K. Mims of Clanton, Alabama, Mrs. Judy White of Billingsley, Alabama, Mrs. Linda Terry of Maplesville, Alabama.

He was preceded in death by Father, John Davenport and Mother Rosia Ray Davenport and Grandson, Daniel Davenport.

Friends were received at Martin Funeral Home Chapel, Tuesday, December 13, 2005 from 5:00-8:00p.m. Services were held at Plantersville Baptist

Church, Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at 2:00p.m with Rev. Ed Fulmer officiating. Interment followed in the Plantersville Baptist Church

Cemetery, Plantersville, Alabama.

Samuel Greene

Samuel Greene, 45, of Rte. 1 Box 254-A, Marion, Alabama, died December 15, 2005 at DCH Hospital, Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Services are scheduled for Thursday, December 22, 2005 at 1 p.m. at the Baptist Academy with Elder Willie L. Jiles officiating. Burial in United Community Church of God in Christ, Marion, Alabama. Directed by Miller Funeral Service.

Survivors include spouse, Sandra Tubbs Greene; three sons, Samuel, Devon and Roderick; one daughter, LaRegan; two sisters, Revenda Greene of Upper Marlboro, Maryland and Wendolyn Johnson of Detroit, Michigan; six grandchildren; four brother-in-laws; three sisters-in-laws; one nephew and three nieces.

Pallbearers will be David Jackson, Terry Jackson, Glenn Tubbs, Ronnie Tubbs, Tommie Thomas and Bobby Greene.

David A. Cobb

David A. Cobb died Monday December 19, 2005 in a local hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00a.m, Wednesday December 21, 2005 at New Live Oak Cemetery with Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Family visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home.

Sullivan Harrison, Sr.

Sullivan Harrison, Sr., 68 of Selma passed on Thursday, December 15, 200S in the Warren Manor Nursing Home.

Harrison was born April 10, 1937 in Minter, Alabama to John and Frances Harrison.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 23, 2005 at the Selmont Community Baptist Church at 1 p.m. With the Reverend D. L. Smith, Sr. officiating. Burial will be in the Hopewell Baptist Church, Minter, Alabama. J. H. Williams and Sons Funeral Home directing.

He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Salem Baptist Church in Minter, Alabama,

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Frances Harrison; brothers, O’Neal James, Sr., A. C. Harrison, Gary James; sisters, Ida, Annie, Inez, Sarah, Pearl Frances, Rena, and Leslie.

He was united in holy matrimony to Susie Ishman and to this union two children were born.

Mr. Harrison was a long time employee of Standard Glass and Dallas Glass Companies.

He leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife, Susie Harrison; one daughter, Carolyn Harrison of Dacula, GA; one son, Sullivan Harrison, Jr. of Selma, AL; three grandchildren, Proscha, Courtney and Wanya; one sister, Mable Johnson, Brooklyn, NY; two brothers, Frank (Louise) James, Selma, Alabama and Solomon (Charlie Mac) Harrison of Cleveland, Ohio; sisters and brothers-in-laws, Henrena James, Palestine Ishman, Susie Ishman, Jeanette (Ned) Falls, Lelia (Charlie) Fails, Henry Ishman, Willie Mae Ishman, Georgia (Zeb) Lee, all of Selma, Alabama and Harriet Harrison of Cleveland, Ohio, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The body will lie in state from noon until 1 p.m.

Robert Lee Morrissette

Robert Lee Morrissette, 70, a resident of Selma, died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2005 at a local nursing facility.

Graveside services are scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Fellowship Baptist Churchyard Cemetery, Lower Peachtree, Alabama. Directed by J. H. Williams and Sons Funeral Home,

Survivors include a sister, Bertha Morrissette and brother Ledger Morrissette both of Lower Peachtree; a niece Julia Harris (Finis) of Selma.

Theresa L. Cater

Theresa L. Cater, 99, a resident of Orrville, AL died December 15 at her home.

Funeral services are scheduled for December 23, 2005 at 1 p.m. at Saloam Baptist Church with Rev. R. Marzetta officiating. Burial in Providence Cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Services directing.

Survivors include three sons, David Leon Cater, Franklin D. Cater and George W. Cater; a sister, Ida M. Gadson of Cleveland, Ohio; three grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be Saint Mary’s Chapter #367 O.E.S. She attended Dallas County Training School in Beloit, Alabama and Selma University Eastern Star.

Helen Moore Seale

Helen Moore Seale, 86, died December 19, 2005 in a local hospital.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00p.m Thursday, December 22, 2005 at the Seale Family Cemetery with Rev. Tom Rimmer and Rev. Henry Smith officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include her husband, Clinton L. Seale, daughters; Caroline S. (James) Bigger, & Clementine S. (Calvin) Bowie. Grandchildren; Jane Bigger Dickens, Elizabeth Bigger Bodnar, James Keith Bigger, Caroline Bowie Acosta & Calvin N. Bowie, III, four great grandchildren and one brother, Dr. John Thomas Moore.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church of Marion Junction, Al or your favorite charity.

James N. Williams

Pastor James N. Williams, 63, of Selma, Alabama died December 16, 2005.

Services will be held December 21, 2005 at 1:00p.m at Clinton Chapel with Rev. David Grant officiating. Burial in Old Oak Grove Cemetery.

Survivors include one brother Fredrick Williams, five sisters, Sarah Moton, Ruth Lane, Betty Williams, Sandra Millings and Eunice D. Freeman; a host of nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.

Woodrow M. Watters

Woodrow M. Watters, 93, of Sprott, Alabama died December 20, 2005.

Graveside services will be held at Pine Flat Church Cemetery, December 22, 2005 at 2:30 p.m with Michael Brooks presiding as Clergy.

Interment will be at Pine Flat Church Cemetery with Kirk Funeral Homes Marion Chapel directing.

He was preceded in death by his parents Reuben Watters and Claude Bolling Watters; his wife Frances Richardson Watters.

Survivors include three sons, Woodie Watters (Karen) of Pensacola, Fl; Reuben Watters (Beth) of Sprott, Al and Jim Watters of Sprott, Al; three sisters, Frances Smoot of Montgomery, Al; Dorothy Smith (Hal) of Martin, TN; Seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Watters, Joseph Watters, Rick Conner, Trey Montgomery, Pettus Suttle and Robert Smoot.
