Antoinette Hinson, Resident of Pensacola, FL, died November 23, 2005.

Samuel Callens, 43, of Selma, Al died November 29, 2005.

James Garner

Mr. James Garner, of Cincinnati, Ohio, formerly of Demopolis,

Alabama passed November 21, 2005 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 3, 2005 at 11:00a.m. at the Small Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church,

Jefferson, Alabama. Rev. Pettaway is the pastor. Rev. David Garner, Eulogist. Interment will follow in Scott Memorial Cemetery, Jefferson, Alabama.

Public viewing will be held Friday from 2-6p.m. at the funeral home. Larkin & Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis, Alabama entrusted with arrangements.

Teena Jackson

Ms. Teena Jackson, 39, of Selma, Alabama died November 25, 2005.

Services are scheduled for December 3, 2005 at 12:00 noon at Miller Funeral Service Chapel with Bro. Clem Watts officiating the service. Burial will follow at Elmwood cemetery. Directed by Miller’s Funeral Service.

Survivors include her parents Willie Lewis and Betty Richardson; 2 sons, Devone Lewis, and Jermere Jackson; three daughters, Shanta

Lewis, Kadesha Jackson and Laquita Jackson; three brothers, Spencer Lewis, Ronald Lewis and Jerry Lewis; two sisters, Annette Lewis and Catrena Lewis.

Lynda Lee

Rogers Swindle

Lynda Lee Rogers Swindle died November 30, 2005, in her home in Cottondale.

Born May 10, 1920, to Lester and Ida Rogers, she was preceded in death by her brothers Cleburn and Clifton Rogers, her sister Lois Rogers Reynolds and her husband George Swindle.

Surviving are her sister Varilla Rogers Braselton, her daughters Doris Talbert, Selma, Gaye Harbin and beloved son-in-law Harold, Northport; her grandchildren Rhonda Harbin, Pensacola, FL, Scott (Leigh) Harbin, Cottondale, and Pearson Talbert (Rebecca), Franklin, TN.

She is also survived by children of her heart, Dr. Radhi Prasad-Karkarla, Texas, Dr. Anita Prasad, St. Louis, Missouri and Raj Prasad, Poland.

She leaves four adored great granddaughters, Elizabeth and Natalie Talbert, and Mary Taylor and Anna Scott Harbin.

Services will be Saturday 1:00 p.m. at Andrews Chapel United Methodist Church. Mrs. Swindle’s body will lie in state for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park.

Visitation with the family will be Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel.

Pallbearers will be Harold Harbin, Scott Harbin, Pearson Talbert, J. C. Gilliam, David Hicks, Johnny Brewer, Bill Peeples and Clem Chance.

Joseph (Joe) Wilson Sr.

Mr. Joseph (Joe) Wilson Sr., 93, of Selma, Alabama died Sunday, November 27, 2005 at her residence.

Services are scheduled for December 3, 2005 at 12:00 noon at Town Creek Missionary Baptist Church with Minister Walter Wilson Sr., officiating the service. Burial will follow in the Churchyard. Elder P.E. Bonner, Church Pastor. Directed by Miller’s Funeral Home.

Johnny Lee Chambers

Johnny Lee Chambers, 56, formerly of Newbern, Alabama died November 29, 2005 at Druid City Hospital, Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Services are scheduled for Saturday, December 3, 2005 at 1p.m. at the First Baptist Church (Newbern) with Rev. Isaiah Waddell officiating the service and James Williams, Pastor. Burial will follow at Burrough and Bryant Cemetery. Lee and Rollins Funeral Home directing.

William Green

Mr. William Green, 60, of Marion, Alabama died November 27, 2005 at Hale County Hospital.

Services are scheduled for Saturday, December 3, 2005 at 1:00p.m. at Morning Star Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Johnson officiating the service. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Miller’s Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his wife Diana Lee Green; eight sons, Douglas Moore, William Green Jr., Auther James Green, Anthony Moore, Tracey Green, Ernest Moore, Kerry Moore and Dennis Moore; three daughters, Connie Green, Barber Green and Stacy Green; five sisters, Nellie Gooden, Barber Green, Queen Green, Mary Easley and Gladys Childs; 35 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law.

Pallbearers will be the sons and grandsons.

Mary Martin Cook Hicks

Mary Martin Cook Hicks, age 89, died Wednesday November 30, 2005 in a local hospital. Graveside services will be held Friday December 4, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in New Live Oak Cemetery officiated by Dr. Cecil Williamson and directed by Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home, Inc.

Mrs. Hicks is survived by her husband, Howard Glenn Hicks of Selma, daughter, Mary Catherine Hicks (Ed) Davidson of Mobile, grandchildren, Richard Glenn (Suzanne) Soule of Windsor, WI and Michael Brent (Kymberly) Soule of Mobile, great grandchildren, Laura Ashleigh Soule of Windsor, WI and Brent Dawson Soule of Mobile, sister, Seleta Cook Llewellyn of Selma, 6 nieces, 8 nephews. She was a lifetime member of Valley Creek Presbyterian Church and a member of the Crawford Campbell Business Women’s Circle of 1st Presbyterian Church. She was the bookkeeper of Henderson Implement Company for over 35 years. She graduated from Selma High School and Central City Business College. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Presbyterian Children’s Home in Talladega or Valley Creek Presbyterian Church.
