Velma Chance Hardy

Velma Chance Hardy, age 87, of Sardis, died Tuesday, November 1, 2005 in a local hospital.

Graveside services will be held at 11:30 Friday, November 4, 2005 in New Live Oak Cemetery officiated by Dr. David Thomas and directed by Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hardy is survived by her son, Jack (Sharon) Hardy of Selma, daughter, Ann (Wayne) Beaver of Bloomsburg, PA, grandchildren, Deborah Mensch of PA, Jennifer (Brent) Warden of OK, Justin Hardy of PA. 10 great-grandchildren, and brother, Edwin Earl Chance of Selma.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Spivey Hardy, her grandson Joseph Spivey Hardy, II, sister, Alberta Small, and brothers, Lee Chance, Lawrence Chance, Lamar Chance, Ray Chance, Melvin Chance, Elbert Chance, and Floyd Chance.

In lieu of flowers the family encourages donations to Pleasant

Hill Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Zafir Abdul Malik

Zafir Abdul Malik (Sean Eric Massey), 35, of Detroit, Michigan died October 31, 2005 in Selma, AL.

Services are scheduled for November 4 at 11a.m. at the Chapel of J.H. Williams & Sons with Rev. Raymond Brown officiating the service. Directed by J.H.Williams & Sons Funeral Home.

Laura Mae Poole Lee

Laura Mae Poole Lee of Sardis, Al died November 1, 2005 at Grady Memorial Hospital (Burn Center) in Atlanta, Georgia.

Services will be announced at a later date by Lewis Brothers Funeral Home.
