For kids in and around the Dallas County area who are looking for the opportunity to get on the hardwood and show their skills, the YMCA is currently holding registration for their basketball league. Registration began Oct. 3 and will end with the evaluations on Nov. 7. That is also the cutoff date for registration.

The league will serve both male and females ballers and with age groups ranging from 5-7 years of age through 18 and up. The age groups will be determined by the child’s age as of Sept. 1, 2005.

Games will be played at the Brown YMCA and the Grist YMCA.

Cost of registration is set at $35 for YMCA members and $50 for non-members.

Anyone interested in coaching a basketball team should attend a youth coaches meeting on Oct. 24 at the Grist YMCA beginning at 6:30 p.m. The next night at 6:30, an adult league sponsor meeting will be held at the Brown YMCA.
