-Alabama High School Athletic Association-
Selma High School Saints (3-4) @ Jefferson Davis High School Volunteers (5-2)
Coaches: Woodrow Lowe Jr. | Duane McWhorter
Breakdown: Selma High is in a must-win situation coming into tonight’s game. The Saints won back-to-back games to start the season and then fell into a four-game losing streak that was snapped last week with a win over Robert E. Lee High School on the road. The win snapped the streak and also put them in the hunt for the fourth slot in Region 4. The Jeff Davis Vols did their part to create a minor logjam in the Region 4 standings last week when they upset G.W. Carver (Montgomery). The Vols are currently in second place in the regional standings and set to host a playoff game in week one. But, a win by Selma High School would throw a wrench in the plans, giving the Saints two wins and a head-to-head win, possibly bolting them into third place ahead of Sidney Lanier.

The Hornets notched back-to-back wins against Keith and Greene County, but fell in consecutive weeks following the Southside and Greensboro, eliminating them from the playoffs. Jemison, on the other hand, started the season on a hot streak, winning six straight before getting upset by Bibb County and then running into the buzzsaw that is the Demopolis Tigers. Despite a pair of losses, the Panthers are still in the second slot in the Region 4 standings and have clinched a playoff berth.

Keith High School Bears (1-7) @ Billingsley High School Bears (3-5)
Coaches: Harry Crum | James Carter
Breakdown: Keith High had a chance to set up a playoff for the fourth and final spot this week. All they needed to do was beat winless Hale County and then have Billingsley knock off Calera. Things don’t always go as planned. The Bears fell giving Hale their first win of the year and then Calera ran Billingsley off the field. So now Keith is in a position to take out some frustrations and earn win No. 2 on the year.

This season, the Eagles have only one loss, and that’s too Bessemer Academy. The Senators have a loss as well, coming in week one against Edgewood. South Choctaw Academy Rebels (1-6) @ Meadowview Christian School Trojans (6-2)
Coaches: Charlie Taylor | Rick Jackson
Breakdown: The Rebels are just brining this season to a close. So far South Choctaw has yet to win a regional football game. They have one win on the season, a victory over West Alabama Prep School, but it was followed up by back-to-back losses to Marengo and then to Jackson Academy. The Trojans can relax a little this week, they will be at home and they will not be playing a regional opponent. The 6-2 Meadowview squad played eight regional games to start their season.
