Leoto Dudley Mason
Leoto Dudley Mason, 80, of Benton, AL died Friday, September 16, 2005 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 20, 2005 at Good Hope Presbyterian Church in Benton with Rev. John Boles and Rev. M.R. Bradley officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing.
Visitation will follow the service at the Southern Sportsman Hunting Lodge on Hwy 80.
Mr. Mason was born on September 2, 1925 in Atlanta, GA. and is preceded in death by his parents, Leoto Logan and Lucille Dudley Mason and his wife, Nancy Shanahan Mason.
He grew up in Galveston, TX and spent summers in Benton. He graduated from Alabama Polytechnic Institute (Auburn University) with a degree in Industrial Design. After graduating from API, he married Nancy Shanahan on July 16,1952. He served as a pilot in the Air Force and was a member of the Fighting 61st Squadron. After leaving the Air Force he continued his military career with the Alabama Air National Guard and the Alabama Army National Guard.
He served as the Mayor of Benton from 1976 to 1988 and as President of The Lowndes Academy Board of Trustees from 1982 to 1986.
He is survived by his children, James Logan (Jim) Mason and wife Tammy of Benton, Nancy Mason Bernard and husband David of Auburn, AL, and Susan Mason Hand and husband Jerome of Montgomery, AL; eight grandchildren, Ashley, Kayla, and Logan Mason; Mason and Mallory Bernard; and Meredith, Matthew, and Milton Hand.
Active Pallbearers will be Pierce Lane, Dave Lyon, Perry Woodruff, Mike Wood, Duke Logan, Dan Rhyne, Hoffman Rhyne, Jr. and Billy McCurdy.

Mary Amanda Wallace
Mary Amanda Wallace, 13, of Selma, passed away, Monday, September 19, 2005, at a local hospital.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Selma Funeral Home.
Michael Chad Bryant
Michael Chad Bryant, 20, died Tuesday, September 13, 2005. He was a native of Selma, a former resident of Foley and a member of the U.S. Army, stationed in Fort Campbell, KY.
He is survived by his wife, Amanda Bryant of Foley; mother and stepfather, Terry and Darren Taylor of Fairhope; father and stepmother, Mark and Jhontel Bryant of Foley; a sister, Ashleigh Bryant of Foley; three brothers, Zachary Taylor of Fairhope, Will Bryant of Foley, and Ryan Taylor of Pearl, MS; grandparents, Edwin and Joyce Swindle and Louis and Jeanette Bryant, all of Selma, the Rev. Wayne and Mildred Taylor of Daphne and Richard Iddings and Sandy Castner, both of Foley, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mack Funeral Home in Robertsdale with the Rev. Jerry Taylor officiating. Burial was held in the Silverhill Cemetery.
