Thelma &8220;Sandy&8221; Strong

Thelma &8220;Sandy&8221; Strong, 69, of Selma, died Monday, September 5, 2005, at her home.

Services will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, September 10, 2005, at Calvary M. B. Church with the Rev. Georgia Tayler officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include two sons, Louis Bill Strong and Marvin Strong both of Selma; two daughters, Marie Strong Watts and Marilyn Torrance of Selma; one brother, Terry Shaw of Detroit, Mich.; four sisters, Susie Shirley Belton and Flora Patterson both of Birmingham, Mary Burke of San Antonio, Texas and Oretha Chambers of Birmingham; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one son-in-law; one daughter-in-law; seven brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Strong, mother, Susie Thornton Shaw.

Active pallbearers will be Darrell Walker, Bryan Johnson, Robert Watts, Frank Lawson, Micheal Lawson and Archie Givens.

Honorary pallbearers will be friends of the family.

Mrs. Strong was a Baptist. She was a housewife.

Barbara Jean Walker Hall

Barbara Jean Walker Hall, 52, of Detroit, Mich., died Tuesday, August 30, 2005, in Detroit, Mich.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 10, at Second Baptist Church with the Rev. Darryl Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include her husband, John Hall; two sons, Earl L. Walker and Kerry Walker; two daughters, Tanis Walker and LouJessica Walker; 13 brothers, Bernard Walker, Howard Walker, William Walker, Richard Walker, Samuel Walker, Dan Thompkins, David Thompkins, William Stewart, Bernard Steward, Robert Stewart Jr., Bill Stewart, Gilbert Stewart and Duke Stewart; four sisters, Diane Stewart, Elaine Stewart, Gloria Ann Stewart and Dorothy Stewart; two grandchildren; one son-in-law, Darrin Blockett; one daughter-in-law, Channela Walker; two brothers-in-law, Wayne Hall and Thomas Hall; 10 sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Howard, William, Richard, Samuel, Ronnie, Johnny Walker, Horace Dubose and Larry Bailey Jr.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Gloria Walker.

Mattie Fikes

Mattie Fikes, 72, of Marion, AL, died Tuesday, August 30, 2005, at a local hospital.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 10, 2005, at Providence Baptist Church with the Rev. Coleman officiating. Burial will follow in Provewell Baptist Church Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel Fikes.

James O. &8220;Red&8221; Harrold

James O. &8220;Red&8221; Harrold passed away Thursday, September 08, 2005 at a local hospital.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 11, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Westwood Baptist Church with Rev. Donald Harris and Bro. Robert Ingram officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow at New Live Oak Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his son, James Robert Harrold of Selma and his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Otis Harrold of Northport, AL. Survivors include two sisters, Alice Faye Harrold and Geraldine Mayo, brother-in-law, Butch Mayo, nephew, Bill Mayo, all of Eutaw, AL, special friends Robert and Mary Ingram and their family of Selma.

James O. Harrold, best known as &8220;Red&8221; was recently retired as a longtime employee of Sears, after retirement he served as a security guard for American Apparel until his recent illness. For many years he was a supporter of Meadowview Christian School and their sports program. He was a faithful member and deacon of Westwood Baptist Church. He was also the leader of the Red Cross shelter at Westwood Baptist Church. He devoted a majority of his time taking care of those in need.

Active pallbearers will be Robby Ingram, Mark Ingram, Charles Bruner, Randall Bruner, Charles Grant, and Kenneth Jones. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Abundant Life Sunday school class, deacons of Westwood Baptist Church, and active and retired employees of Sears.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the Westwood Baptist Church Retirement Debt Fund.

Family visitation will be Saturday, September 10, 2005 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Mary Pilgram

Mary Pilgram, 63, of Selma, AL, died Sunday, September 4, 2005, at a local hospital.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 10, 2005, at the Chapel of Miller Funeral Home with Pastor Etta Weaver officiating. Burial will follow in New Bethel Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include one brother, Cleveland Edwards; two sisters, Mattie Mae Miller and Mary Edwards Carter.

Nadine Kelly Hain

Nadine Kelly Hain, 74, died Wednesday, September 7, 2005, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 9, 2005, at Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev. Buddy Champion officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Family visitation will be prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Mrs. Hain is survived by her sons, William B. Hain Jr., Richard D. (Pam) Hain, Kelly B. (Christi) Hain, all of Atlanta, GA.; daughter, Leigh Shirah of Deatsville, 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; a brother, Thomas F. Kelly, III; and brother-in-law, Jim Marrs of Alexandria, VA.

Mrs. Hain served as Secretary for Shiloh Baptist Church in Sardis for 38 years. She was the chairman & an active member of the reunion committee for A.G. Parrish High School Class of 1949. She will be missed.

Pallbearers will be Cooper Hain, Joey Hain, Billy Watts, Thad Henley, Jason Thompson, Chris Cordell, Erik Henderson and Robbie Sawicki.

Leroy Wiggins Hunter

Leroy Wiggins Hunter, 47, of Birmingham, AL, formerly of Boligee, died Sunday, September 4, 2005, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 10, at Springhill Baptist Church, Boligee, with the Rev. Willie Gaines and the Rev. William M. Branch officiating.

Family hour will be held from 6-7 p.m. on Friday, at the funeral home chapel. Larkin & Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis, Alabama entrusted with arrangements.

Randy Moore

Randy Moore, 33, of Kingstree, South Carolina, formerly of Forkland, Alabama, passed Saturday, September 3, 2005, in Fairfax, Virginia.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 10, 2005, at Old Green Oak Baptist Church, Forkland, Alabama with the Rev. Wendell Charleston officiating. Interment will follow in Longin Cemetery Forkland, Alabama. Larkin & Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis, Alabama entrusted with arrangements.

Lovell D. McCall

Lovell D. McCall, age 31, a resident of Hayneville, AL, died Saturday, September 3, 2005.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 10, 2005, at 1:00 p.m. at Bell Funeral Home Chapel with Brother John Grant officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Moriah #1 Cemetery with Bell Funeral Home directing.

Bobbie Freeman

Bobbie Freeman, age 58, a resident of Montgomery, died Wednesday, August 31, 2005.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, September 10, 2005, at Mt Sinai Church with Pastor Johnny Babres officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Sinai Church Cemetery with Bell Funeral Home directing.

Alma L. Cleveland, of Marion Jct., AL, died Wednesday, September 7, 2005, at her home.

Louise Moore, 59, of Safford, AL, died Sunday, September 4, 2005, at her home.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 10, 2005, at Pine Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Dwight Woods officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include five sons, Ledell Moore, Charlie Moore, Sylvester Moore, Steven Moore and Johnny Moore; two daughters, Deborah Williams and Brenda Grimes; seven brothers; three sisters; 16 grandchildren; two sons-in-law; three daughters-in-law; one brother-in-law; three sisters-in-law; and one aunt, Delois Wells.

Active pallbearers will be nephews.
