Twardy wins Junior Miss title

Frances &8220;Anna&8221; Twardy was named the 2006 Dallas County Junior Miss last night during the Junior Miss program held at Pickard Auditorium.

As the new Junior Miss, Twardy received a $3,000 scholarship and a silver tray from the Civitan Club of Selma.

In addition to the title, Twardy also received a $300 scholarship as a Talent Winner, a $400 scholarship as a Scholastic Winner, and a $300 scholarship as a Self-expression Winner.

Twardy said the best thing about the program was getting to know all of her fellow contestants and spending time with them.

The First Alternate winner was Jessica Willis. She received a $2,000 scholarship from the Civitan Club of Selma.

Willis was also one of the $250 Bolton Scholarship Award winners and a $300 Self-expression scholarship winner.

The Second Alternate winner was Claire Veach. Veach received $1,500 scholarship from the Civitan Club of Selma.

She was also one of the $400 Scholastic scholarship winners and a $250 Bolton Scholarship winner.

This was the 30th year the Civitan Club of Selma has sponsored the Dallas County Junior Miss program.
