A Dallas County Sheriff’s Deputy who just happened to be looking for some breakfast thwarted a would-be thief early Saturday morning at Hardee’s on Highland Avenue.
Deputy Kelly Box pulled up to the restaurant’s drive-through at about 5:50 a.m., Saturday.
When no one responded, he became suspicious and pulled around to the front of the building where he saw store employees on the floor.
According to Sheriff Harris Huffman, Box got out of the car and saw a white male inside the store holding a knife.
Box handcuffed the suspect and waited for the Selma Police to come pick him up.
Selma Police officers took into custody a 43-year-old white male named Garry Randall Pinson, who gave a Birmingham address.
According to the City Jail, he is being charged with robbery first degree and was given a $20,000 bond.
Huffman added that Box still got his biscuit.
