Lillie Wills Shannon, 62, of Selma , AL, died Thursday, May 26, 2005, in Selma.

Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2005, at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Selma, AL, with Pastor Thomas Patterson officiating. Interment will follow in Dr. Henry Cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.

She leaves to cherish her memories a devoted husband, Henry W. Shannon Jr. of 40 years; a daughter, Barbara S.(Esias) Shark, a son Henry W.(Victoria) Shannon III; two sisters, Georgia (Pete) Reese and Bernice(Dock) Bullard; two brothers, William Wills and Willie James Wills; two loving grandchildren, Shakil and Esias.

Loretta Watts Mitchell

Loretta “Ret” Watts Mitchell, 69, of Selma, died Tuesday, May 31, 2005.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2005, at Greater New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnnie Blunt officiating. Burial will follow in New Sister Spring Church Cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.

Elizabeth Ann Jackson

Elizabeth Ann Jackson, 50, of Selma, AL, died Monday, May 30, 2005, at a Birmingham hospital.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 4, 2005, at the Chapel of Lewis Brothers Funeral Home with the Rev. Maurice Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include brothers, Ernest Charles Jackson of Winston, Salem, N.C., and Albert Lee Jackson of Selma; three sisters, Mary Juanita Richardson of Selma, Gwendolyn Quarles of Fontanna, Calif., and Jeannette Johnson of Selma; two aunts, Texanna Miree and Annie Bell Jackson of Selma.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Annie Lee Jackson and Tommie Lee Jackson and a brother, Tommie Jackson of Winston, Salem.

Active pallbearers are brothers and cousins.

Beverly Ann White Scott

Beverly Ann White Scott, 39, of Selma, formerly of Bronx, N.Y., died Wednesday, May 25, 2005, at a local hospital.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 4, at Zion M.P. Church with the Rev. J.D. Fails officiating. Burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include her husband, Sidney Scott Jr.; three sons, Sidney Scott III, Seth White and Scott Orlando Scott; three daughters, Ashley White, Kiesha Scott and Minnie Mae Scott; two brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Seth and Thora White, sisters, Linda White and Margie White.

Active pallbearers are Norman Weatherspoon, Robert Harvell, Micheal Davis, Kelvin Burns, Melvin Buster and Walter Edwards.

Evelyn Hamilton

Evelyn Hamilton, 51, of Minter, died Monday, May 30, 2005, at a local hospital.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 4, at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church in Minter with Pastor Frank Miles Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include her step-mother, Lula Smith; four brothers, Jerome Hamilton , Wayne Hamilton, Elahandrea and Erwin Smith; six sisters, Patricia, Shirley and Leola Hamilton, Marcia and Monique Fox and Gloria Carmicheal; four brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law and a host of nieces and nephews.

Hal Pryor

Hal Pryor, 93, of Sprott, died Friday, May 27, 2005, at his home.

Services will be held at 12 noon Saturday, June 4, 2005, at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, Sprott, with the Rev. Johnny L. Tillis officiating. Burial will follow in New Oak Grove Cemetery with Lee and Rollins Funeral Home directing.

Patricia McCants, 49, of Selma, died Sunday, May 29, 2005 at a local hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 4, 2005, at East Salem Baptist Church with the Rev. W.J. Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing. Survivors include two sons, Harry McCants and Marlin McCants of Selma; three daughters, Cynthia A. Hartley, Gloria McCants and Sherika McCants of Selma; five brothers, Arthur Hartley, James Hartley, Freddrick Hartley, Sam Hartley, Reginald Hartley and John Hartley; five sisters, Bernice Griffin of Pensacola, Fla., Velma Craig, Thelma Towns and Annie Bonner (Alton); seven grandchildren; one brother-in-law; and a host of nephews, nieces and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hartley Sr.

Alberta Malone, 51, of Dallas County, died Saturday, May 28, 2005, at a local hosptial.

Services will be held at 12 noon Saturday, June 4, 2005, at New Bride Church with the Rev. Curtis Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include her husband, Alton Malone; one son, Altonio Malone; one daughter, Roshelle Thomas; six brothers, Robert Jones, Ervin Jones, Samuel Jones, John Jones, Charles Jones and Walter Robinson; four sisters, Verdell Mason, Pearl Coates, Mary Jones and Shirley Thomas; one son-in-law; three brothers-in-law; eight nephews; and four nieces.

Harold Stallworth

Harold Stallworth, of Childersburg, formerly of Selma, Alabama, died Thursday, May 26, 2005, at a Birmingham hospital.

Funeral services, will be held Saturday, June 4, 2005, at 1:00 P.M. at Enon Baptist Church in Childersburg, AL with the Rev. Calvin Cunningham officiating. Burial will be in the Lilly Rhoden Cemetery in Childersburg, Alabama.

He was employed by the city of Childersburg.

He is survived by his wife Mildred Stallworth of Pittsburgh, PA.; two daughters, Carmen and Michelle Stallworth, both of Pittsburgh, PA.; one son, Harold Stallworth, Jr. of Pittsburgh, PA; one sister, Sally Pearl Smelley of Detroit, MI; two brothers, Ossie Lee Stallworth of Detroit, Ml, and Vann Stallworth of Pittsburgh, PA; one special aunt, Cora Bradford of Childersburg, AL; a special friend Cheryl Day of Childersburg, AL; two grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

The body may be viewed on Friday, at funeral home from 12 noon until 9:00 P.M.

The family will have family hour at the funeral home from 6 :00 P.M. until 7 :00 P.M. at the funeral home on Friday.

Community Funeral Home will direct the funeral.

George Rice Sr., age 65, of Coatopa, Alabama passed May 27, 2005, at a Demopolis hospital.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 4, 2005, at 12:00 Noon at the Bucks Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, Coatopa, Alabama, with the Rev. Cone, Pastor the Rev. Wesley Winston, Eulogist. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

Family hour will be held Friday night from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at the church.

Survivors include parents, David and Catherine Reeves Brown; brothers, Arthur L. Brown and Jerry Brown Sr.; four sisters, Catherine Thomas, Betty Jean Payne, Azeline (Levi) Shanks and Caroline (Percy) Towns Jr.; two brothers-in-law; three nephews; 11 nieces; and a host of great-nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his brother, David Brown.

Creola Cbaney, age 71 of Demopolis, Alabama passed May 30, 2005, at Demopolis, nursing home.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 4, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Eastern Star Baptist Church, Demopolis, Alabama with the Rev. Terry Gosa, Eulogist. Interment will follow in Memorial Cemetery, Demopolis, Alabama.

The remains will repose at the church on Saturday beginning at 1:30 p.m.
