Johnson Paint and Body came from behind to beat Moore-Stewart 8-6 on May 9. In the first inning for Moore-Stewart, Joseph Watters led off with a double and scored on a double by Parker Hughes. Hughes scored on a fielder’s choice by Craig Price.

In the second inning, Moore-Stewart increased its lead to 3-0 when Robert Olinger singled and scored on a single by Adam King.

Moore-Stewart scored two more runs in the fourth inning. Landon Shelby walked and scored on a single by King. King then scored on a single by Watters.

Johnson Paint and Body tied the game at 5-5 in the sixth inning. Rashad Howard walked, Nathaniel Blevins was hit by a pitch, and Jeremy Reese walked.

All scored on a two-out grand slam by Wendell Strong. Pierre Newberry reached on an error and came around to score on a wild throw to second base.

In the top of the seventh inning, Gregory Pope reached on a fielder’s choice, Gregory Lewis singled, and Trevion Taylor singled, and all came around to score to give Johnson Paint and Body the 8-5 lead.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, Watters walked and came around to score and make the final 8-6.

Mr. Roy’s 8

Selma Cash and Carry got in the win column May 9 by beating Mr. Roy’s 11-8.

Malcolm Mabien, Aaron Waters, McCain Lewis, and Nicholas White all had hits in the win.

Tyler Jones was the winning pitcher. For Mr. Roy’s, Cody Griffin, Thomas Curtis, and Anfernee Simpson had two hits each followed by Tarvaska Rivers, and Devonte Hayes with one hit each. Rivers took the loss on the mound.

Turner Motors 7

Brown Drug 6

Wilbert McConico took the win on the mound to lead Turner Motors to a 7-6 win over Brown Drug on May 10.

In the top of the first inning, Brown Drug scored four runs on three hits. Amos Bonner walked, Drew Ross singled, Arthur Oliver singled, and Matthew Tillery walked, and all scored to take the lead 4-0. Turner Motors cut the lead in half in the bottom of the first inning.

Jemarcus Brown walked and scored on a double by McConico. McConico also came around to score.

In the bottom of the second inning, Andrew Thompson singled and scored to cut the lead to 4-3. Brown Drug got the run back in the third inning when Everette Thompson walked and came around to score.

In the top of the fourth inning, Oliver singled and scored to increase Brown Drug’s lead to 6-3. For Turner Motors in the fourth, Rejadarious Thigpen and Michael Perryman both walked and scored on a double by McConico, making the score 6-5.

Byron Hall singled and scored in the fifth inning for Turner Motors to tie the game, 6-6.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Thigpen walked and scored the winning run on a double by Perryman to win the game 7-6.

Swift Drug 10

Cougar Minit Shop 0

John Pomoroy and Ryan McDowell teamed up to pitch a one hit shut out for Swift Drug over Cougar Minit Shop 10-0 on May 10.

For Swift Drug, Jonta Martin and Jashombe Smith had two hits and two RBI each.

Pomoroy, McDowell, and Derrick Walker each had one hit. Byron Hamilton took the loss on the mound for Cougar Minit Shop, and Darius Frazier had one hit.
