Selma sweeps

The Selma Saints are making a playoff push after a Friday sweep of a double-header at Sidney Lanier.
The twin wins put them in a three-way tie for the fourth and final playoff spot with two weeks to go in the season.
Selma 8, Lanier 3
Brian Robinson pitched seven strong innings and came up big at the plate as the Saints downed the Poets, 8-3.
Robinson struck out six, gave up nine hits and three walks.
At the plate, he helped his own cause going 2-for-3 with a homer and two RBIs.
Quinn Parnell was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base. Donald Steele went 1-for-3 with a triple and an RBI. Cajun Pritchett went 1-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and stolen base.
Selma 16, Lanier 6
Byron Sewell threw a complete game and struck out nine on seven hits and four walks as Selma put the sweep on Lanier.
Parnell went 4-for-5 with homer, four RBIs and a stolen base
“When you look at both ends of a double header, he had about as good a night as you can have,” Saints coach Alan Morgan said.
At the plate, Justin Perkins was 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Sewell helped his own cause.
He went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
John Solomon was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a stolen base. John Towns was 1-for 2 with a double.
