Florence Jessie Mae Williams

Florence Jessie Mae Williams, 61, of Selma, died Saturday, April 2, 2005, at a local hospital.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at Old Shiloh Church with Pastor Micheal Bowen officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include her husband, Walter A.Williams; three sons, Roderick Earl Britton, Walter A. Britton and Jefferey A. Williams all of Selma; two daughters, Elaine Britton of Selma and Beverly A. Williams-Kennedy; one brother, Thomas Britton; three sisters, Mamie Allard of Spring Valley, N.Y., Dorothy Ervin of Selma and Arcola Morgan of Monterey, Calif.; 20 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sons-in-law; three daughters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; six nephews; five nieces; and a devoted aunt, Annie Davis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Britton and Scott Durrah.

Active pallbearers are Shawn Smith, Floyd Hatcher Jr., Bobby Russell, Sammie Reese, Dexter Hatcher and Duwayne Hatcher.

Isabella Davis

Isabella Davis, 98, of Selma, died Friday, April 1, 2005, at a local hospital.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at Morning Star Baptist Church in Marion Jct., with the Rev. Rufus Tolbert officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery with J.H. Williams and Sons Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include one daughter, Ethel Lee Woods of Selma; 15 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; 45 great-great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends..

Jordan J. Hall

Jordon J. Hall, 29, of Minter, AL, died Monday, April 4, 2005.

Services will be held at 12 noon Saturday, April 9, 2005, at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Clarence Hall officiating. Burial will follow in New Generation Cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his parents, Arthur Hall Jr. and Sharon Hall; one brother, Bryan Z. Hall; one sister, Charretta E. Hall ; grandfather, Arthur Hall Sr.; grandmothers, Lelice Hall and Bernice Hunter; two nieces, Jordan J. Beaton and Shania D. Perryman.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jordan J. Hunter.

Andrew Jones, 90, a resident of Letohatchee, AL died Saturday, April 2, 2005.

Gloria M. Green

Gloria M. Green, 43, of Selma, died Friday, April 1, 2005, at her home.

Services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, April 9, 2005, at Mt. Zion P.B. Church with Elder Bryan Starks officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include one daughter, Shonell Flennory; three brothers, Walker King, Elijah and Walter Maul; three sisters, Brenda Hatcher, Doretha Brow=n and Lorene Moore; three grandchildren; one son-in-law; two brothers-in-law; 10 nephews; and eight nieces.

Moses Reese

Moses Reese, 52, of Uniontown, died Friday, April 1, 2005, at a Selma hospital.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at the Chapel of Phillip White’s Julia L. White Funeral Home with the Rev. James Murdock officiating. Burial will follow in Living Hope Cemetery with Phillip White’s Julia L. White Funeral Home directing.

Anglee George

Anglee George, 69, of Marion, died Thursday, April 7, 2005, at a healthcare facility.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Miller Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Hattie George.

Vela Autery Morgan

Vela Autery Morgan, 92, of Gautier, Miss., died Thursday, April 7, 2005, in Escatawpa, Miss., she is a former resident of Pine Hill, Safford, and Montgomery, Alabama.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at the Chapel of O’Bryant Funeral Home in Thomasville, AL, with her grandson, the Reverend Jeff Ellis of Lester’s Chapel United Methodist Church, Chelsea, AL officiating.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Van Morgan; one daughter, Jane Morgan Bush; parents, Alonzo E. and Onie Autery; six brothers and four sisters.

She is survived by two sons; Jimmie G. (Ann) Morgan of Merritt Island, Fla., and Billy Joe (Dorothy)Morgan of Greenville, AL; three daughters, Gloria M. Frayne of Marion, AL, Norma M. Barker of Gautier, Miss., and Judy M. (Stewart) Callaway of Hueyton, AL; one brother, Clifton A. Autery and one sister, Euleen

Olivier Potts, both of Pine Hill, AL; 18 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Internment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, Pine Hill, AL.

James Earl Dixon Sr.

James Earl Dixon Sr., 48, of Selma, died Wednesday, April 6, 2005.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 10, at Second M.B. Church with the Rev. Darryl Moore officiating and Miller Funeral Home directing. Burial will be held in Leesville, La.

Survivors include his wife, Willie Nell Dixon; parents, Willie Dixon Sr., Johnny and Mary Louise Henry; two sons, David Jerome Hamilton and James Earl Dixon Jr.; one daughter, Jayla Soles; two brothers, Leon Jackson and Jerry Lynch; three sisters, Shirley A. Coleman, Mary Faye Shakesniver and Paula Yvette Willis; one grandchild; three sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, David Earl and Johnny Dixon.

Active pallbearers are Norfolk Southern Railroad employees.

Florence Hall Green

Florence Hall Green, 100, died Tuesday, April 5, 2005, at a hospice in West Alabama.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 8, at the Chapel of Rockco Funeral Home in Centreville, with the Rev. Calvin Crocker and Dr. Mark Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Lawley with Rockco Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include two sons, Billy E. Green (Jane) of Randolph and Jesse Bryant Green (Elsie) of Northport; two daughters, Nolvice Bearden of Plantersville and Johnnie McGee (Sam E.) of Northport; one sister-in-law, Peggy Hall of Wilton; 14 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Green was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Green and son, James Thomas Green.

Family visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Green was a lifelong member of Friendship Baptist Church in Lawley.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of West Alabama, 3851 Loop Rd., Tuscaloosa, AL 35404
