One of Selma’s up-and-coming authors recently published his fourth Christian-based book that explores the roles of faith, forgiveness and self-esteem in everyday life.

Dr. Udo Ufomadu, owner of the publishing company Ufomadu Consulting and Publishing, has been focused on writing inspirational poetry and business advice for the past few years.

His latest work, “Secrets of Elevation Hidden in Stirring Poems,” is a combination of Ufomadu’s two distinct writing styles.

Despite the title, there are no hidden secrets in this book of poetry.

It is all laid out in the open, just waiting for the reader to discover.

Poems such as “Presence” and “Heavenly Father” reveal Ufomadu’s devotion to his Christian faith and the importance of involving God in every aspect of life.

Found in between the poems on faith are poems meant to build self-esteem and promote a healthy attitude.

Poems like “Diligence” and “Knockdown, Not a Knockout,” are about triumph after never giving up and working hard. Another poem, “Forgiving, Just Like That,” is about letting go of grudges.

Ufomadu said the inspiration for most of his poetry comes from God.

“As soon as He gives me the words, I write them down,” Ufomadu said. “The words mostly come to me in the morning, when everything gets quite. I take notes and transfer them into a poem.”

Once he begins to write, Ufomadu said, the words seem to flow from him.

“For this book, I tried to look back on past experiences,” Ufomadu said. “I wanted to encourage myself and pass it down in everybody.”

Ufomadu said he tries to infuse Christian principals into all of his writing in hopes that others can learn from it.

Most of Ufomadu’s poems are in a simple and easy-to-understand writing style in order to reach even his young readers.

“I think it’s easy to reach kids through poetry,” he said. “They would be bored by my business advice books. They can read those books when they’re older.”

Ufomadu is the author of “Anthology of Inspiration,” “How to Become Extremely Successful in Business Management, Personal Management, and Family Budget Planning,” and “Quote the Best Out of You.”

Ufomadu said is currently working on another business advice book.
