MCS sweeps through WAP tournament

Sweeping their way through a weekend tournament, the Meadowview Lady Trojans

put the WAP! back in West Alabama Prep with a trio of wins, including a no-hitter.

“It was just an excellent defensive weekend for us,” coach Rick Raines said. “We played very well.

We didn’t hit as well as we wanted to, (but)

we were very please with the defensive effort that we had.”

MCS started off with a 4-2 win over Pickens Academy led by Haley McIntyre at the plate. She went 2-for-3 with four RBIs and her first homer of the year.

Casey Burton went 2-for-3 with a single and a double.

Brandi Moore slapped a single and Carol Ann McIntyre went 2-for-3 with a pair of singles.

Micah Lolley went the distance for her eighth straight win.

She allowed six hits and struck out four.

After dispatching Pickens, MCS outlasted Marengo, 1-0.

Lolley went the distance again, allowing five hits and striking out five.

H. McIntyre added

two singles while Megan Lambert and Haley Wilson each added a single.

In the third game MCS pasted MMI, 16-0.

Elyse McIntyre went the distance allowing no runs on no hits.

She struck out six.

H. McIntyre went 4-for-4 in the win.

Burton went 3-for-4 while E. McIntyre had two hits and two RBIs.

Jessica Lolley went 3-for-3 with and RBI and Nicole Davis was 2-for-2 with a pair of singles.

MCS begins area play tonight as they face Taylor Road on the road. The Lady Trojans are 10-0 on the season..
