Barbara J. Pair McGary, 53, of Selma, died Sunday, March 6, 2005.

Services will be held at 12 noon Saturday, March 12, at Morning Star Baptist Church with the Rev. B.T. Booker officiating. Burial will follow in Pineview Memory Gardens Cemetery with Walker Mortuary directing.

Survivors include her husband, David McGary Sr.; mother, Mary F. Watts; one daughter, Vivian L. Pair of Selma; one brother, Calvin Smith of Boston, Mass.; four sisters, Fannie (Joe) Goins of Selma, Julia (Virge) Draine and Dorothy Jiles of Mobile and Rosie (Charles) Smith of Boston, Mass.; two grandchildren; four brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; mother-in-law, Pearlie McGary of Annie Maine; and step-children, Jennifer, David Jr., and Gregory McGary all of Selma and Evelyn Love of Birmingham.

Mrs. McGary was preceded in death by her son, Christopher J. Pair.

Clinton Moore III, 43, of Selma, died Sunday, March 6, 2005.

Services will be held at 12 noon Saturday, March 12, 2005, at Northern Heights Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Glenn King officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include parents, Doris Johnson Moore of Selma and Clinton Moore Jr. (Roslyn) of Liberty, S.C.; one sister, Beverly Jackson (Henry) of Selma; brothers, Edger Moore (Bonita) of Brandon, Fla., Christopher Moore of Wetumpka, Derrick Moore and Richard Walker of Selma; three aunts, Norma Tipton (Jerry) of Mobile, Mary Power of Enterprise and Catherine Michel of Queens Villiage, N.Y.; a special niece, Sharnika Jones (Timothy) of Marion Jct.; nine nieces; five nephews; and a host of cousins.

Latasha Nicole Evans

Latasha Nicole Evans, 20, Selma, died Sunday, March 6, 2005, at a local hospital.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at the Chapel of Leis Brothers Funeral Home with Apostle Prophet Calvin Hunter officiating. Burial will follow in Watts Cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include her mother Ethel Mae Evans; five sisters, Cassandra, Michele, Julia, Veronica and Roxanne Evans of Selma; two nephews; three nieces; grandmother, Ethel Evans; aunts, Josephine Turner, Carolyn Coleman, Mary Tolbert and Gwendolyn Moore.

She was preceded in death by one aunt, Mary Watts and grandmother, Bertha Minor.

Miss Evans was a Baptist.

Catherine Hatcher

Catherine Hatcher, 77, of Plantersville, died Friday, March 4, 2005, at her home.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at Bethel Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny Tillis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include Leonard Hatcher, Walter Caver, Sammy Hatcher, Tommy Hatcher, Otis Hatcher and Glenn Hatcher; four daughters, Lilly Stewart, Annie Williams, Ella Maey Tyus and Madero Hatcher.

Walter Jones Jr.

Walter “Jack” Jones Jr., 40, of Marion Jct., died Sunday, March 6, 2005, at a local hospital.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his wife, Clara V. Bell; parents, Walter and Louise Jones; stepsons, Jaylin, Benjamin, Tony and Jerry Bell; stepdaughters, Veronica and Regina Bell; two daughters, Laronda S. Bell and Ashley A. Bell; four aunts, Janie, Linda, Lillie Mae and Mallie; two special cousins, Willie Anna Sanders and LaWanda Rean Thomas; two brothers, Anthony and Christopher Jones; three uncles, Sammie Jones, Willie Jones and James Goree; seven sisters, Jacqueline J. (Willie) Kynard, Wanda T. (Buford) Parks, Callie (Alfred) Heard, Gwendolyn (Eddie). Crystal (Terrance), Delaine Powell (LeAndrew) and Shanari Ford; seven brothers-in-law; four sisters-in-law.

Repast will follow after the burial services at Old Baptist Academy.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at Selmont Baptist Church with the Rev. D. L. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery, Orrville, with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include one son, Paul (Dorothy) Richardson; four daughters, Elnora (Edison) Moore of Selma, Alice Powell and Ethel (Alvene) Sanders of Detroit, Mich., and Loretta (Willie) Pendergrass of New York; 22 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; three sons-in-law; one daughter-in-law; one sister-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Active pallbearers are friends and family.

Elmer Stallings, 77, of Bellamy, died Monday, March 7, 2005, at a Demopolis hospital.

Services will be held at 12 noon Friday, March 11, at Morning Star Baptist Church in Bellamy, with the Rev. Robert Pierce and the Rev. John Sanders officiating and Larkin and Scott Funeral Home directing.

Family visitation will be at 11:30 a.m Friday at the church.

The body will lie in state at the church on Friday, beginning at 11 a.m.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at Shiloh Baptist Church with the Rev. Joshua Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with J.H. Williams and Sons Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include three sons, George, Leo and James Suttles; two daughters, Leola and Cherry Suttles; one brother, George Suttles Jr.; three sisters, Partheina Alexander, Janie P. Suttles and Barbara Suttles; one aunt, Charlesee Hopkins; two special friends, Tawnner Grimes and Patricia Morrison; 14 grandchildren; two sons-in-law; six sisters-in-law; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Family visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

The body will lie in state at the church on Saturday, beginning at 12 noon.
