Darwin Jackson Fondren

Darwin Jackson Fondren, 63, of Greensboro, died Monday, February 28, 2005, at a Hale County Hospital. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Arthur Thomas and the Rev. Tom Terry officiating. Services will be directed by Kirk Funeral Homes Greensboro Chapel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Fondren.

Survivors include brother and sister-in-law. Bert and Carolyn Fondren of Selma; sister, Jacqueline Shields of Linden; nephew, Michael (Donna) Fondren of Selma; nieces, Lynn, (David) Pearce of Browns. Paige (James) Noe of Houston, TX; and special friends, Dot and Jerry Jackson of Greensboro.

Pallbearers will be Mark Cook, Michael Fondren, Jim Fuller, John Thomas, Lennon Thomas and Joe Wilkerson. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Selma Pest Control, Thomas Tractor Company, Rebecca Thomas and Frances Baxter, Nursing staff of Hale County hospital, Dr. Gerold Eibanda, Barry Hogue, and Belinda Stewart.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to: Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 3968 County Road 54, Greensboro, AL 36744.

Gus Hardy, 81, of Selma, died Sunday, February 27, 2005, in Selma.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Walker Mortuary.
