The Marion Military Institute Tigers and Lady Tigers each wrapped up AISA Class 1A, West Area 4 titles with victories Saturday night at MMI.

The Tigers got 18 points from Kendrick Moore and 16 from Jovaris Smith to beat Warrior Academy, 49-34.

The victory improves the Tigers to 21-1 on the season and advances them to the AISA Class 1A sub-state tournament at Faulkner University. The Tigers will open the tournament Thursday afternoon against Calvary Christian.

Moore and Clarence Allgood were named to the All-Tournament Team, while Smith was named Tournament MVP.

In the girls’ area final, Felicia Sprott scored 25 points to pace the MMI Lady Tigers past Sumter Academy, 48-37.

Emily Easley added 13 points as the Lady Tigers improved to 18-4 on the season. MMI also advances to the AISA Class 1A sub-state tournament Thursday at Faulkner College. The Lady Tigers will face Autauga Academy.

Easley and Yolanda Kelly were named to the All-Tournament Team, while Sprott was named the Tournament MVP.
