Mary L. Jones

Mary L. Jones, of Selma, died Friday, January 21, 2005, at a local hospital.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 29, at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church with the Rev. Ruffin officiating. Burial will follow in Pineview Memory Gardens with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home officiating.

Survivors include her two daughters, Sharon (McArthur) Hale of Montgomery and Rosalind Wade of Stone Mountain, Ga.; a stepdaughter, Monique (Richard) Waugh; three sons, Tyrone Wade, Kevin (Susie) Jones both of Selma and Spec. Roosevelt Jones Jr. of Fort Campbell, Ky.; 15 grandchildren; three sisters, Geraldine Wade, Dorothy (Richard) Lee both of Selma and Betty (Willis) Homer of Chicago, Ill.; four brothers, Otis Wade of New York, N. Y., George (Rosetta) Wade, Eddie Wade and Alfred (Rosemary) Wade all of Selma; a host of nieces and nephews; an aunt, Era Dean Lake and an uncle, Stanley Gardner both of Selma.

She also leaves to cherish two devoted friends, Mildred Freeman of Minneapolis, Minnesota and John Webster of Cleveland, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Willie Jr., John and Nathaniel.

Mary, the fourth child of the late Willie and Mary Wade, was born on November 1, 1946.

She departed this life on Friday, January 21, 2005 at Vaughan Regional Medial Center.

She was employed with Cahaba Regional Mental Health Services for over 25 years before retiring in 2000.

William James McCall

William James McCall, of Montgomery County, died Wednesday, January 26, 2005/

Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Bell Funeral Home.

Jessie Webb

Jessie Webb, 45, of Selma, died Friday, January 21, 2005, at a local hospital.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 29, at Little Canaan P.B. Church with Elder James Beal officiating. Burial will follow in Doc Henry Cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral

Dr. Earl Moncrief

Dr. Earl Moncrief, 87, of Pleasant Hill, died Monday, January 24, 2005.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 27, in Pleasant Hill Baptist

Church Cemetery, Pleasant Hill, with Dr. David Thomas officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing.

Dr. Moncrief is survived by his daughter, Melissa Moncrief Pouncey; two sisters, Rebecca Lucille Henley and Fay Guess; two grandchildren, Lori E. Avants and Susan Patricia Pouncey.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Nell.

Dr. Moncrief was a pilot in WWII Canadian and U. S. Air Force. After his discharge from the military, he received his Doctor of Chiropractice degree. He was a member of the Board of Controls, Delta Sigma Chi, treasurer of Delta Sigma Chi, Jr. NCA, and G.I. Clubs.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the Pleasant Hill Baptist Cemetery Association, The American Cancer Association and Cahaba Hospice.
