R.C. Hatch put together a 17-3 run in the final four minutes of the second quarter, then opened the third period with a 13-4 run to take the lead for good.

The Lady Bobcats’ offense began the game a bit sluggish, but grabbed an 11-8 lead after the first period.

“It was a little cool in the locker room,” Lady Bobcats coach Walter Abraham said. “Also, the last two games were against teams that we overmatched, and sometimes you can have a letdown after big wins in those games. We bounced back in the second quarter and just tried to slow the game down in the final quarter.”

Greensboro held Hatch scoreless for the first four minutes of the second quarter and took a 13-11 lead. But the Lady Bobcats awoke from their shooting slump and began their runs. Hatch took a 28-16 lead into halftime, with Valencia Dudley scoring a dozen points by intermission.

The Lady Bobcats’ defense showed its presence in the second half. The stingy defense allowed the R.C. Hatch offense to create easy scores. R.C. Hatch made the most of those scoring opportunities and went ahead 57-27 with three minutes remaining.

Dudley led all scorers with 20 points. Sierra Miller added 16 for the Lady Bobcats.
