Dan Hopkins Sr.

Dan Hopkins Sr., 85, of Selma, died Wednesday, December 29, 2004, at a local nursing home.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 5, at Second Baptist Church with the Rev. Darryl Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include five sons, Dock, Joe, Legion, William and Marcus; five daughters, Bessie Brown, Betty Hopkins, Mary Jones, Carolyn Kelly and Evelyn Hunter; 45 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sons-in-law; four daughters-in-law; one sister-in-law; seven nephews; and six nieces.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Murray Hopkins, two sons, Dan Jr. and Robert, and one daughter, Beulah.

Active pallbearers are grandsons.

Honorary pallbearers are sons.

Mr. Hopkins, retired from Goodyear after 41 years of faithful service.
