CCA takes two from East Memorial

Central Christian Academy walked away Saturday night with a pair of easy victories over host East Memorial Academy.

The Warriors stormed out to a 32-3 lead after the first quarter and went on to rout East Memorial, 71-32.

Tee Woods led the Warriors (5-1) with 16 points before he and the other CCA starters were pulled at halftime. Jerome Deese and Bud Smith chipped in 12 and 10 points, respectively.

The Warriors outscored their opponents 17-5 in the second half to own a 49-8 intermission lead.

In girls’ action, the Lady Warriors coasted to a 46-25 win over East Memorial.

The Lady Warriors were paced by Shardae Rose with 12 points and six rebounds. She was followed by Rhonda Johnson with 10 points, Trisha Stacy with eight points and 12 rebounds, and Tamara Stacy with seven points and five rebounds.

CCA will be in action again Thursday night when it hosts Marion Military Institute. The boys’ junior varsity game at 5 p.m., followed by the girls’ and boys’ varsity contests.
