Allen Boyd Edwards Sr.

Allen Boyd Edwards Sr., 79, died December Saturday, 4, 2004, at his home.

Services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 7, at Morningview Baptist Church with Dr. Greg Belser officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Annex Cemetery with Brooks-Cargile Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his wife, Guinn Rountree Edwards; his sons and their wives, Allen, Jr. (Ann) and Tony (Susan); five grandchildren, Tait Edwards Lachney (Lance), Boyd, Clay, Neil and Amy Catherine Edwards all of Montgomery; sister, Ernestine Morris of Elmore; brother, Morgan Edwards (Rubyanne) of Cullman; brother-in-law George Jewel of Comfort, TX; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers Thomas Noland, Danny Martin, Gill Landers, Donny Goodwin, Billy Cox and Trey Holley

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Morningview Baptist Church Building Fund, 125 Calhoun Rd., AL 36109, or Baptist Hospice, 301 Interstate Park Dr, Montgomery, AL 36109.

Mr. Edwards was retired from American States Insurance Co., and was a long time member of Morningview Baptist Church. He sewed during WWII with the 34th Infantry Division in the European-African-Middle Eastern campaigns.

The family would like to express appreciation to caregivers Bernice Posey and Annie Golson and to the caring personnel of Baptist Hospice.

Nelson Cook

Nelson Cook, 53, of Selma, died Sunday Dec. 5, 2004.

Services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, December 11, at the Chapel of Lewis Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Cook; and one brother, Lee Alfred Cook, Jr.

The body will be lie in state on Saturday, from 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

Raymond Bearden

Raymond Bearden, 74, died Sunday, December 5, 2004, at a Birmingham hospital.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 9, at Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include one son, Steve Bearden; one daughter, Lisa Dempsey; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers, Richard Bearden, Norman Bearden and James Bearden; sisters, Frances Coon and Barbara Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the American Heart Association.
