After finishing the 2003 season 31-2, the Lady Saints are ready to make a statement.
Gabrielle Goudy, the outstanding student athlete from Selma CHAT Academy, will be making her debut Tuesday night with four returning starters: Junior guard Shemeka Simpson, senior guard Ashley Green, Sophomore forward Erica Lumpkin and senior point guard/ forward Santana Seay.
Junior center Kemeka Wilson will be rounding out the starting five. Coach Harris said the team’s goal is to get back to Birmingham and that Amina Wofford, Martina West, Jasmine Yates, Erica Minor and Jorielle Scott are ready to step up to the challenge.
This year, the Lady Saints are built on speed with the addition of five young players: Gabrielle Goudy, Erica Culpepper, Joyce Jackson, Richelle Jones and Elise Minor. The Lady Saints will be running all night.
Coach Harris said he’s trying to get the players focused and forget about last year.
