Raymond H Smith
Raymond Horace Smith of Carson City, Nevada, died November 7, 2004, at his home.
He was buried on November 10, at 2 p.m., in the Lone Mountain Cemetery in Carson City, with Walton’s Chapel directing.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Smith; children, L Ray (Paulette) Smith of Panguitch, Utah, Rita (Len) Johnson of Selma, Alabama, Ken (Janice) Smith of Las Vegas, Nevada; step children, Eileen (Angel) Lumbao of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Alvin Ferrer of Carson City, Nevada; grandchildren, Kimberly (Doug) Stewart of Prattville, Alabama, Brina (Robert) Lombardo of West Palm Beach, Florida, Monica Smith of Pensacola, Florida, Stewart Smith of Las Vegas, Nevada, April (Ken) McNair of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Angeline Lumbao of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; 5 greatgrandchildren; brothers, Milton, Joel, Bobby and Mac, of Boaz, Alabama; sisters, Linda and Dolly of Boaz, Alabama, and Sara of San Antonio, Texas.
He was preceded in death by a son Freddie, and 2 brothers, Windell and Edgar.
Mr. Smith served in the Air Force for 21 years, being stationed at Craig Air Force Base from 1946-1956 where he married and his three children were born. He served in Anchorage, Alaska; Novato, California; and Fallon, Nevada, where he retired in 1966 and then moved back to Selma for a few years. After working Civil Service in several states he settled down in Carson City, Nevada for the remainder of his life, where he loved the mountains and cool air.
Elijah Bates
Elijah Bates, 84, of Akron, Ohio, formerly of Coatopa, died Sunday, November 14, 2004, at a hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 20, at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church in Coatopa, with the Rev. Clarence Jackson officiating. Burial followed in the churchyard cemetery with Larkin and Scott Funeral Home of Demopolis directing.
Phillip Jackson
Phillip Jackson, 54, of Boligee, died Saturday. November 13, 2004, at his home.
Services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 20, at Little Zion Baptist Church in Boligee, with the Rev. L.C. Hall and the Rev. Willie Carter officiating. Burial followed in Pine Grove Cemetery in Boligee, with Larkin and Scott Funeral Home directing.
Randall E. Prince
Randall Elliott Prince, 48 of Selma died Friday November 19, 2004 in a Birmingham hospital Graveside services are 2:00 P.M. Sunday November 21, 2004 at New Live Oak Cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home directing. Survivors include his wife, Kathy L. Prince, Mother, Jean McCauley Prince, Aunts, Margaret McCauley, Juanita M Ratcliffe, and Betty M Long. Mr. Prince was preceded in death by his father, Francis Richard Prince and his brother, Richard McCauley Prince. Pallbearers will be employees of Cooper Brothers Construction Company. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Fruit of the Vine Ministries or one’s favorite charity.
Marie J. Weaver
WEAVER, Marie J. age 80 a resident of Prattville, AL passed away Saturday, November 20, 2004.
Funeral Services will be held Monday November 22, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. from Bethesda Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Ridout’s Prattville Chapel directing. Mrs. Weaver was preceded in death by her husband B.F. Weaver.
She is survived by 4 daughters: Mary Manning, Ouida Young, and Charlotte Weaver all of Prattville, and Kathryn Reed of Mobile: son: William Pardue of Panama City, Fl: Step-sons Leonard Weaver and Wayne Weaver both of Birmingham, AL: Sisters Grace Hand of Enterprise MS and Helen Rose of Selma, AL. 17 Grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday November 21, 2004 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Ridouts Prattville Chapel.
